Chapter 9 - Closer?...

After lunch, like they agreed they came out to talk. Alone. Away from prying eyes and ears. They went to the changing rooms first so that they can get out of their sweaty jerseys and change. After they changed, they both went to the bleachers and sat at the very top where nobody could hear them.

Y/n POV:

We both got changed and went to the bleachers. I so didn't want to be alone with him, but I promised him. My heart just wouldn't calm down. This close proximity between us would probably make me faint. He was walking so close to me and when we sat, he sat like he was almost stuck to me. Does he like me too? I shook that thought away from my head. I was always doubting whether he likes me back. That's the only reason I was holding back. Okay! Maybe it was one of the reasons. We just sat there in comfortable silence for a few minutes and then he started talking.

Tae POV:

we both went to the top of the bleachers I just didn't want to be away from her anymore. I couldn't help it. I wanted to be close to her. Hell, who am I kidding! I wanted to be the only one close to her. I could see that she was slightly blushing. I was happy I could do that to her. I wanted to tell her so much but what if she doesn't like me that way? We were just sitting there quietly and then I spoke up. "Can I ask you something? I want you to be honest though" " Sure Tae." "Why have you been ignoring me all this while. I thought we were doing good after I came to you and asked you for a second chance. Y/n, did I do or say something. If so, I'm so sorry. Everyone said you just isolate yourself during exams and then you'll be back to normal. I'm still waiting for you to be normal with me again." "Tae... No, you didn't do anything. It's not your fault. I'm sorry to have made you feel that way. I've just been trying to figure out some stuff lately and that just messed me up. That's all. And I can assure you we are back to normal." she said laughing. She looks so cute when she laughs. Her face lights up and those crinkles by her eyes. She is just perfect. I laughed along with her and put my arm around her and pulled her into a hug.

Author's POV:

Y/n was having a nice laugh with Tae. That is until he put his arm around her and hugged her. She just froze like that not knowing how to react at his sudden expression. He secretly chuckled at how she was stunned but felt happy when she hugged him back. They pulled away after a few seconds. "Y/n" "Hm?" "I know you are a very good singer can you sing me a song" "Huh? Like now-now? Right now?" "Yeah, if you don't mind." "Okayyyyy...What do you want me to sing?" "Anything" She just nods her head and sings for him. He listens to her sing so intently and when she finishes, he claps for her making her turn crimson red. After that they just sit there talking for more than an hour. "Tae, please take care of yourself. You got hurt so badly today and-" she tells him her voice dripping with concern and then she is cut off by Tae. "Shhhhh. It's not like you are all careful ok. Look at your hand. A sprain could take weeks to recover Y/n. I should be the one telling you this. You are the clumsy one here not me! You keep getting hurt all the time. Falling, breaking stuff......" Tae just keeps blabbering and schooling her. Y/n just keeps quiet and looks at him and after some time she just starts giggling unable to contain herself anymore.
"What is wrong with you?? Why the hell are you laughing y/n? I'm not joking here!" He asked her sternly squinting his eyes at her showing he was pissed at her carelessness. "Aww" y/n said and pinched his cheeks and just like that he shut his mouth. He turned so red. He turned away but y/n had already noticed it. "I'm so glad that the sports events are over. Can we go for ice cream later today?" Y/n asked breaking the silence. "Sure, we can go. But don't be so happy girl you still have your cultural competitions coming up." Tae said. She just groaned shaking her head at which he just chuckled shaking his head at her silly behavior. He knows for a fact that she will at least bag a few prizes and still she's just being so stressed and worried all the time. "I'll text the others to come. We can leave together" she chirped with excitement. Tae just quietly nodded his head at her. He thought it'd be only the two of them having ice cream. But seems like the whole gang is going to be there. She texts everyone to meet outside the school gate in 10 minutes. Taehyung suddenly stands up and so does she seeing him get up. When she saw his face, he looked kinda mad. "Tae are you mad at me or something?" He just shook his head no and started getting down but then winced a little because of his injury. She quickly caught up to him and held his hand to help him get down. They both blushed at this. Once they reached down y/n kissed him on the cheeks. He was staring at her with eyes wide open and she just smiled at him. They were still holding hands even after they reached outside the gate. "What was that kiss for?" Tae suddenly asked her. "Oh, ummm... I-It was... for thanking you." She said stammering. "Thank me? For what?" "Nothing." She shrugged. He kept pestering her to tell him why and she didn't. Soon, the others also reached there. "Yah. Give me your bag I'll hold it." Yoongi said as soon as he came and took her bag from her hands. "So? Shall we move?" Jungkook asked putting his arm around y/n and smiled at her. She nodded. They started walking. "How's your hand now? Better than morning?" He asked her she nodded her head giggling because of his expression. He just glared at her "I'm not joking y/n. I'm serious. You've got to be more careful. You can't just keep getting hurt all the time." "Okay stop it... I will be more careful!" She said a little annoyed and rolled her eyes and smacked him on the head. She jerked his hand away and went to Tae and held his hand. He turned to look at her with confused eyes to which she replied by just smiling and shrugging. He wasn't complaining though. Within few seconds Kook caught up with them and again put his arm around her. "I won't nag you anymore if you're being careful doggo. I promise. Okay?" he said with such a cute face that she just smiled and nodded her head in agreement. The other boys didn't quite like how they never fight and how they just resolve anything just so easily. Well, Yoongi mostly didn't like it because he had suspicions that something is going on between them and he also knew for a fact that that is not true, so he doesn't really care what they both do. But Tae and Jimin didn't like it because they wanted to be there for her and not some other guy. Jimin was quietly fuming with jealousy seeing how y/n herself went and held Tae's hand.

Jimin POV:

We were walking together, and I didn't like how they both were holding hands and the way Jungkook had his arms around her. Soon, we reached the ice cream shop and we all started choosing our flavors. Everyone except me, Yoongi and y/n had chosen what they want and took theirs and were waiting for us. Yoongi also got his. Finally, I made my choice and got mine. I took mine in hand and waited while she got hers so that I can take it in mine as her hand was injured.
When y/n decided on her ice cream flavour and the girl was going to hand it over, Taehyung suddenly swooped in and took it in his hands. I looked over at y/n and she was smiling up at him. I felt so pissed at my slow reflex and that I wasn't the one to help her. That's when I decided....

What do you think will happen next. What will Jimin's decision be? Will Yoongi's identity be revealed to Tae anytime soon????
