I don't think this needs a trigger warning but just in case: this chapter does include, upon request, the mention of a teacher mistreating and taking advantage of a student, though there are absolutely no details about it because I didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable!

This took me a while to make because I had another version almost completed and ready to go but I have a new laptop and it uses a different platform for writing so I must've hit a button or moved the mouse the wrong way and it erased my work completely :( so it's not my best work but I hope you all like it nonetheless.

I'm new at writing for Nanno though I've been a fan of her and Girl from nowhere since the day the show dropped on Netflix so hopefully I do her character justice!

Enjoy 🩷

——————————————————

You sat on one of the tables outside of your school and looked away from your lap for the first time in a bit as Nanno took a seat beside you.

You felt the weight of the world lifting from your shoulders at last, after several months of never-ending mental and emotional struggle.

It's something you never thought you'd feel because you never thought the problems you were experiencing would ever come to an end.

But, at last, they had.

And it was all because of Nanno.

Nanno was the newest girl in your class and until you grew close with her and finally found someone to confide in, every school day was difficult for you.

Your teacher, for the longest time, had mistreated you and had even gone as far as taking advantage of you once or twice.

It was a secret that you never thought you'd share with anyone, despite wanting to and struggling to keep it to yourself.

But, one day, it had become too much for you to handle and Nanno caught you crying in the bathroom.

And that's when you told her everything.

You couldn't explain why but you felt safe telling her everything.

She had this charming nature but to you, also a sense of safety and security, as if you could tell her anything; even things you'd never tell anyone else.

She was just so easy to talk to and so good at keeping secrets.

So you felt comfortable sharing your deepest, darkest secret with her.

And instead of shaming you or making you feel uncomfortable, she came up with a plan to expose your teacher for everything he'd done.

And, finally, now, everything had come to an end and you were safe again.

Nanno put her hand over yours and gave it a squeeze.

"Are you alright?" She asked.

"Yeah." You answered. "I think I'm okay, for the first time in a long time."

Nanno sent you that smile that made you feel weak in the knees.

You're not sure exactly what she'd done to expose your teacher for the things he'd done to you for so long but he'd been caught for it.

And that's all you cared about.

It made the weight on your shoulders disappear at last and it was easy for Nanno to see how relieved you felt.

"Thank you for helping me. I won't ask questions, part of me doesn't want to know how. But I feel safe again, thanks to you."

She was a little evil, always managing to know everyone's worst and darkest secrets.

She always seemed to know the terrible things they'd done to others and you found it fascinating.

"He deserved to be caught for the things he did. You didn't deserve any of it. You deserved better." She said. "You have peace again. You can breathe again."

You laid your head on her shoulder only to pull away as she began to let out a laugh like you'd never heard before.

Her laugh was loud and maybe even a little creepy and eerie.

It was easy to see that her laugh was all because she'd taken pride in exposing him for the things he'd done.

And despite how her laugh had taken you by surprise at first and made a little shiver run down your spine, it was fascinating at the same time.

You've never heard a laugh like hers before.

It was evil, it was eerie, but in it, you found uniqueness and satisfaction.

"Does my laugh freak you out at all?"

"Not at all, Nanno." You said. "I mean, sure, it did at first. But... it's kinda cool." You said with a smile and watched her smirk.

It was a little unusual, sure.

But as she continued, it seemed to make you laugh a little as well.

"Thank you for everything." You said as you put your head back on her shoulder.

She put her head on yours and held your hand, her fingers intertwined with yours.

"It's what I do." She said as she stared at you. "And I'd do it all again for you."

She was still your safe place.

And you hoped she'd never disappear because life seemed a little easier and better with her there by your side to keep you safe.

And she'd continue to keep you safe at all costs, promising to protect you and expose anyone who tried to cross her.
