The Phillies had just won the NLCS and were advancing to the World Series. To celebrate, the team and the wives and girlfriends decided to go to Xfinity Live. Rhys Hoskins was newly dating a very famous actress, Delanee. She was, as everyone says, the most beautiful, kind, friendly, person you would ever meet. She had built an amazing bond with all of the wives and girlfriends. Especially Kayla Harper and Dru Alexandra. As they walked into the loud building, the three girls each got a drink and sat down with Lexi Realmuto and Paige Schwarber following shortly. The other girls were spread out at different tables.
"This was such a fun game to watch. Especially when Bryce hit a homerun!" Kayla said with a wink.
"Yea it was cool I guess." Delanee replied in a mocking tone trying to hide her smirk.
"He never would've put us on top if Jacob didn't get to first." Lexi said with a look of love in her eyes.
Dru and Paige just laughed.
The girls had gotten up to dance for a little and sat back down. Some of the team was sitting at the bar a couple feet away. The others were dancing. Rhys and Kyle were sitting next to each other talking at the bar and everything seemed fine. Suddenly, someone was yelling. As Delanee looked over she realized it was Rhys yelling at someone random man sitting at the bar.
"What did you just say?" He yelled at the man.
"I said your girl should come home with me tonight. Got a problem?"
As Rhys continued yelling Delanee zoned out not even knowing what was happening anymore. She was upset that the man said that to Rhys, and she was worried that Rhys would think differently of her. As the girls noticed Delanees sudden mood change, Dru and Kayla helped her out of the booth and walked on either side of her, while Lexi and Paige walked behind her. The last thing she saw before getting outside was Kyle trying to hold back Rhys from doing anything. "Thank God for Kyle" she thought. She finally slowed her breath and Paige ran inside to get her some water. She was sitting on a bench outside with the girls surrounding her. When Paige returned with the water, she took a sip and spoke.
"What am I gonna do?" She asked.
"What do you mean?" Dru had a confused look on her face like everyone else.
"He's gonna hate me. He's gonna break up with me."
"Why would you think that? That douche was just looking for trouble. It's not your fault." Paige replied sweetly.
Delanee nodded and looked at the ground. Next thing you know, the doors flung open and Rhys was standing there out of breath looking for her. His eyes softened when they met hers and he gave her a smile. It didn't look like he had any injuries which was good. The girls said some see you laters and love yous. Rhys came and sat next to Delanee, taking her hand in his. It stayed quiet until Rhys finally spoke up.
"I'm sorry about what he said. And I'm sorry about the way that I reacted. That's probably the last thing you wanted to see, or hear I guess."
"It's not your fault about what he said. But thank you. I just don't want you to think different about me. You know I would never do that right?" She asked with concern in her voice.
"I know sweetheart, I know. Just know I'll always protect you."
"I love you Rhys."
"I love you more Delanee."
The pair headed back inside and continued on with their night. The man was nowhere to be seen. When they finally decided to go home it was late. When they got home they quickly changed and got ready for bed. "Goodnight Rhys, I love you."
"Goodnight Delanee, I love you more."
"Impossible."
