A NEW LOVE | Charlie Swan

Chapter 5

RUBI POV

Louis and i were just deciding what to eat for dinner when my phone dinged.

Unknown: hey Rubi, This is Charlie Sawn.

Me: hello Charlie

Charlie: I hope you don't think it's weird or anything , but I was wondering what are you and the little man were doing tonight?

I smiled as i looked at the screen, the fact that he not only asked about me but also for Louis made me smile.

Me: Louis and me are deciding what to get for dinner and maybe play a board game right after.

Charlie: That's sound like fun. I haven't played board games in years...

Me: Do you now?

Charlie: yess, hey Rubi I was wondering if I could come over for dinner. I just ordered pizza for me and my friend but unfortunately he left before the pizza came and well I don't want to waste the food. Of course if you and Louis want to.

I smiled and looked at Louis. "Would you like Charlie to come over?" I asked Louis and his face lit up and he got all excited nodding his little head.

Me: Of course we love you to come over Charlie.

Charlie: Are you sure. I don't want to make you guys uncomfortable.

Me: Yess I'm sure...Just come over Charlie. :)

Louis was watching T.V when I told him to wash up that Charlie or Mr. Policeman as he kept calling him would be here soon with pizza. I cleaned up a bit and about 10 minutes later the doorbell rang. I checked the window to make sure it was Charlie.

I smiled as I looked at Louis."Louis remember no using magic in front of Charlie, now go open the door."

He jumped up and I heard the door open, I heard an excited Louis greeting Charlie. Louis squealed once Charlie greeted him back.

As i stepped into the hallway I saw Louis pulling Charlie into the house.

Charlie catches me by surprise by hugging me. "Hello Charlie," I softly said as he still hugged me and i was telling my body to relax and to not flinch. I'm still not used to this sort of affection and kindness towards me.

"Hello Rubi." He said after he had released me from his hug. I called for Louis to wash his hands so we could eat.

"Can I show Charlie my cars figures?" He said and  I chuckled. "Sure, but first dinner. Otherwise, the pizza will get cold." I said smiling and kissed his little head.

We ate and Louis was asking Charlie like a hundred questions. Every now and then I chuckled enjoying the fact that for one evening I could eat in peace and not worried about my problems and fears.

After dinner Louis showed Charlie his toys while I cleaned up. I smiled as Charlie was playing with him. I had to admit it made my stomach flip a few times. But I shook my head. 'Do not get attached, Do not catch feelings, Remember what happened last time, Don't Trust easily!' I kept repeating over and over again in my head.

"Okay love, What game do you want to play?" I asked Louis.  "Can we play Uno?" Louis asked. "Sure. Go get it from the hall closet." I said smiling. "Okay mommy." He said running off.

I chuckled as Charlie was sitting on one of the kid seats. "Do you need help getting up old man.?" I said smirking.

"Hey! im not that old." He said faking like he was offended.

"It's seem like Louis likes you. If you don't mind me asking do you have any kids?"I asked scared that I could offend him or displease him with my question.

"Yes, I have a daughter her name is Isabella she's 17 years old and lives with her mother in Phoenix, Arizona." He said sadly smile as he was still holding my hand after I had helped him up.

"Really, I bet she's as beautiful as you?" I said smirking taking a step forward. His hand still holding on to mine. "Well... Ms. Addams, maybe you'll find out one day." He said doing his best to keep his voice steady. I was now standing really close to his body heat and his cologne engulfing me making me feel hazy for a minute until we got pulled from our little moment by an excited Louis yelling that he found the game.

"We better go. Before he gets a little inpatient."I said and Charlie laughed. "Are you ready to lose buddy." Charlie said smirking at Louis . Louis giggled. "No. You are going to lose." Louis said looking at him trying his best to look tough."Well, we will see about that." Charlie said and Louis giggled."Mommy!" He squealed and Charlie laughed picking him up and tickling him. "That is right. Mommy is going to lose big time." Charlie said smirking at me. I just shook my head and blush.

We played a few games laughing and giggling. After the 8th game Louis got tired. "Okay baby, It is time for bed say goodnight to Charlie." I said smiling.
"Good night, Charlie." Louis says and he walks over giving him a hug taking us both by surprise.
"Goodnight Louis." Charlie says hugging him back.

I took Louis to bed and smile as he hug's his dragon doll. But i can't help but be a little worried, after everything with his dad and the wizarding world. We could never be calm or have a stable place. Not if they're still looking for us. I just can't have Louis get to attached to Charlie or anyone else or he will be disappointed by yet another person in his life that eventually he have to say goodbye again.

I remember the words I told my friend from Hogwarts a year ago. "i don't know anymore, I'm tired of running away. I just want to go somewhere where we could be safe without any anxiety and stress of being followed by him. You know him and i had a good time but all of that was in the past now the present is much different, we hurt each other and this is just how things go no matter what we do we will never go back to how we were before."

I wipe away my tears as the memory's of them flows through my head. I close the bedroom door. And walk into the living room where Charlie was.

"Are you ok." Charlie asked worry as he got up from the sofa.

"I'm fine." I softly said not noticing the tears that were falling.

"Shhh." Charlie whispers softly as he wipes away the tears on my cheek. He puts his arm around me and holds me and said nothing more. He just holds me and let me melt into him.

"You are so comfortable." I murmur making Charlie chuckle. We stand there for a while in silence in our own thoughts.
