"August, Doll, for the tenth time, just pick a store and buy cute shit." I whine placing the palms of my hands against my eyes.

We've been going back and forth for the last twenty minutes and as much as I love talking to her, I've never seen a girl refuse my money in such a determined way. In fact, I've never seen a girl refuse my money, period.

"Did I just hear, Jack Cameron, say the word... cute?"  She replies throwing her head back laughing so hard that the noise is silent.

"I've said cute before!" I scoff, crossing my arms over my chest.

"When? Literally when." She asks, still coming down from her circus act of a joke. Which by the way I did not find funny, I have definitely said the word 'cute' before and I stand by that.

"You're cute. Ford and Soph are cute. When you're bossy it's cute. Your top was cute but I had the luxury of taking it off of you-"

"Okay, you're done!" August shouts cutting me off and walking back towards the restaurant where the group is still at.

"That's it." I laugh shaking my head and picking her up. I toss her over my shoulder and immediately receive scratches and hits along my back.

Which is comical to me because the scratches will most likely be masked by the scars and tattoos anyways.

"Put me down!" August says strictly but still uncontrollably giggling. I smile at the sound of her laugh and push through the doors to the mall.

The looks I get from people in the mall are uncanny, but I honestly don't give a shit.

"What store you thinking, pretty girl?" I ask squeezing the back of her thigh to get her attention.

August hesitates a few seconds but when she finally answers, I get taken aback that she finally gave in and decided to let me buy her clothes.

"Mm, Hollister?"

"Yes ma'am." I reply, carefully setting her down to her feet, instantly feeling my body cool to the loss of her touch.

August and I start walking towards the store when I feel my phone continuously buzz in my back pocket.

"Here, Doll. I'll be right there, I have to take this." I insist handing her my black credit card. She nods and waits a second before walking away, I answer the call but still follow behind her in a safe enough distance just in case anything happens.

"Soph, what the hell? How did you get my number?" I ask whispering and running my hand frantically through my hair.

"Sex God, that is not the topic of this phone call. You kidnapped my Golden Girl and took her shopping?" She scolds almost offended.

"Do you mind just ordering what she likes and getting it to-go. We're going to be here for a while she's stubborn as hell." I respond still watching August, making sure she can't hear my conversation.

"You left me here with, Kai, and YOU'RE asking for favors? Please, I've had to pretend to feel bad for him, for the last THIRTY-FIVE minutes." Soph whisper yells back.

The relationship I have with her is honestly one of my top-five favorites. She's feisty, she doesn't give a fuck, and she somehow still has everyone apologizing to her when they didn't do anything wrong. Sounds exactly like me.

Once I see August enter Hollister I follow in behind her and lean against the door to the entrance so I can finish the call.

"Did you see the look on his face, Dyl." I respond lightly chuckling. The line goes silent for a few seconds before I hear a huge burst of laughter leave my speaker.
