Marley

The moon was bright and shimmery as The Warriors made their way towards their target. You could barely hear the fifteen footsteps that crept through the woods. Energy buzzed between us as we got closer and closer to the target.

"Marley." Zane's voice whispered from behind me, "Be careful."

I glanced over my shoulder and even though Zane couldn't see me I smiled at him.

"Same to you."

I continued to creep through the forest, my muscles coiled with excitement of the challenge to come. After only about fifteen more minutes of walking, I could faintly hear the familiar click click sound that came from Jeremy.

I stopped walking as did the rest of the group.

Jeremy appeared in front of us as did a small flashlight he used to shine on himself so we could see, "Groups, split up. We attack, now." his voice was a stern order.

I carefully picked my way over to my group which consisted of 6 muscled men and myself. (Who most considered a dude) Jeremy was leading my group, as we were the top trained in the gang, therefor we we to attack the heart of the Blue Riders. Micheal led the second group with Zane close behind him.

"Now!" Jeremy all but screamed-causing me to jump in surprise.

I recovered from my shock quickly as the rest of the group darted forward. Forcing myself into a steady sprint, I wound my way to the front of our group-just behind Jeremy. All that was heard was the steady crunching of our feet against the dead leaves and the steady breathing coming from our mouths. We ran for a solid ten minutes before slowing to a walk.

I placed my right hand on my hip as I wheezed in air from the strenuous run we had just endured. My left hand that was encircled with a heavy black cast, dangled at my side-my fingers touching the cool metal barrel of the weapon that hung off my hip.

Up ahead I could easily spot the mansion that I knew the Blue Riders would be staying in. A strong whiff of barbecue and pork wafted over me and I found my mouth watering-I couldn't even remember the last time I had eaten.

"Well Marley, looks like you were right," Jeremy stated, glancing down at me. Even with the dim light we had I could see the pride in his expression.

I smirked but inwardly was heaving with relief. I really didn't want to die so I'm glad I was right. Maybe I should stick with my gut instinct more often!

We started off once again, creeping forward so quietly not even a mouse could hear us. As we continued towards the opening in the woods our group began to split up, a few men walking one way while a few walked the other. I stayed with Jeremy going forward. He was my partner for this mission, after all.

The tension in the air was so thick it made my heart race. Out of the blue a loud twig snapped, causing me to jump practically straight out of my skin,

Jeremy whipped around and smacked me rather roughly on the side of my head at my mistake. He pressed his finger to his lip, warning me to stay silent.

A large burley man padded right in front of us, obviously unaware of the scene that was unfolding around him. He walked with a confident ease, his stride long and his movements purposeful.

Jeremy nodded at me.

I closed my eyes for a brief second before creeping around Jeremy and padding towards the back of the unaware man. I inwardly cringed at how weak and defenseless the man was-before taking a massive step forward and then proceeding to leap onto the mans back.
