Chapter One- Danger

Luca sat his desk looking at the clock on the wall. It was Friday evening and he couldn't wait to go home to his fiancé. He had been busy all week and hadn't had a moment to spend with her let alone inside her and right now that is all he could think about. She herself had thrown herself into promoting her new book and wedding plans and he often found her knocked out in bed when he got home late from work. He had a super confidential meeting in a few minutes with his Father and his soon to be Father in law Lawrence. Once it was done he could rush home to Mila.

            Entering his fathers office he sat down on the seat across from his father and Lawrence was sat on the sofa in the corner.

"So Pa, what's up?" Luca asked fixing his suit.

"Luca, as you know about a year ago we joined forces with Lawrence here to get the companies to move forward and become more successful. When we first started this new project we decided It a good idea to buy multiple properties and start the process of rejuvenating them at the same time, so we could seek profit at the same time and start the cycle of development again, having seasons of profit and influx. One of the buildings we bought was a 6 story building in Chicago, on Banks ST. We bought the building off the owner for a very reasonable price with the promise that he could keep the basement and it would not be touched throughout the development process. Little did we know the basement was being used a drug den and the owner used us a cover up as the police started to show concern. Recently a lot of drugs have gone missing from this 'Branch' and the ex owner of the building/Drug dealer has gone missing, making us look rather suspicious to the Drug lord who has been sending his drugs this way. Basically what I'm trying to say is, I don't know how dangerous this guy is and I think it best we keep our heads down until the situation is sorted out. Most of the staff here are taking a week off, I've told them its due to the fact we don't have a lot of properties being done up at the moment and we are only keeping the very necessary people in. I also think it a good idea we send our families away for a couple weeks or so, just till it quiets down."

"OH wow..i...er....i don't know what to say" Luca stuttered.

"I think its best you stay here with me and Lawrence as we may need you."

"I however would prefer it, it Mila went with her mother away from here" Lawrence added to the conversation after being very silent in the corner.

Luca's heart dropped at the thought of two weeks away from Mila but the thought of something happening to her if she stayed half killed him. He knew she couldn't stay and the protective side of him wouldn't allow her to no matter what.

"I think its best she does leave, but I need to know where she is going? How will she be safe?"

"She will go with your mother and her mother to your grandmothers house down south in Oklahoma, you and I both know she will be just fine there."

Luca didn't say a word just nodded, finished up the meeting with his father and headed home.

He entered the apartment and he saw Mila on the phone chatting away and pacing up and down. She was wearing a tank top and yoga pants and damn her ass looked good. Her hair was tied up into a messy bun. He started walking over to her but she put her hand up to say 'im on the phone, don't even bother come over here'. He got the signal loud and clear and went to put his stuff down in his office.
