Eve of May

Chapter 1

A group of friends arrived on a secluded island where they decided to celebrate their reunion after many years from their graduation.

There were seven of them and everyone are already working as a professional. 

Hera and Evan both work abroad as a nurse, John is an elementary school teacher, Ava is a dance instructor, Mia is a hotel worker, Marty became a basketball coach, and lastly Sienna is a restaurant owner.

They were happy to finally meet each other again and excited to catch up. 

The island was only exclusive to them with no servers or any staff for a week. They had planned this a month before Hera and Evan will visit from the States.

Their friendship started when they were in high school and was formed after a group project led by Sienna. 

All of them acknowledged her good leadership and she graduated with the highest rank among their batch.

" Shall we gather around for lunch after we put our stuff in our rooms?" said Sienna

"That is a great idea. I'm so hungry already" said Evan. 

He is known to be a prankster and always makes jokes during their class before even in front of their teachers.

Evan is also infamous for hitting on a lot of girls on campus and was involved in many love affairs.

" Woah, everyone is looking good. I can't wait to see the ladies with a swimsuit on," said Evan.

"Gosh! You have not changed at all," exclaimed Ava

"I am just kidding with the swimsuit thing but I am not joking when I said that everyone looks good especially you Mia."

Mia is an introvert but very intelligent and when they were in high school she always spent her lunch in the library.

She shyly responded to Evan, "What about me? I am still the same."

"But Evan was right. You became prettier. Am I not right, John?" asked Sienna when she caught John staring at Mia.

John is Hera's cousin but unlike Hera who is too self-centered, John is very kind and considerate, especially to Mia who he has a crush on.

He smiled and said. " I agree. By the way, can I help you with your bag Mia?"

However, before she could reply, Hera handed her own bag to John and blocked Mia.

" Hey cousin, you can carry my bag instead. I am sure Mia does not need your help with her bag that seems not heavy and also I am thinner than her."

John frowned and was disappointed in her cousin but he does not have a choice but to carry Hera's bag since she already put it on his arm.

On the other hand, in contrast to what Hera had said; Mia's bag is actually heavy because of the fruits inside that she is planning to give to them from their farm.

Meanwhile, Hera turns to Ava and calls her attention when she sees that Ava is busy on her phone.

" Ava!" Hera shouted.

"Yeah! What's up?"

"Stop looking at your phone and take me a picture."

"Fine, but I will ask Marty to join us," Ava said excitedly.

Marty joined the two girls making selfies while the others went to prepare the table for their lunch. 

Marty is the most popular guy back then as he is the team captain of the basketball team and was also known to have a good singing voice.
