Zane's POV

"We were attacked. Plan and simply." Robin steps forward to explain.

"You know what I mean, by what?" Batman says his voice being slightly harsh at the end. I look over at the rubble and see that Megan and Superboy are trying to move things out of the way and clean things up a bit.

"It seemed to have been a man made of smoke, we couldn't get him to talk, he looked...lost." Kaldur's words made my mouth drop a bit.

"Wait, was he a middle aged man with dark eyes...um, he looked like he was really tired." I try my best to explain. Those were the only things about him I remember, I can't remember much since Red Tornado stepped in quickly.

"Yeah! Wait...How do you know?" Wally yells out pointing his finger at me as Robin gives him a look I can't quite describe.

"It was the same man that attacked me at the cave a few weeks ago, and Red helped me."

"Ohhh." Wally realizes giving a sheepish smile.

"Two times now this man has shown up and has not accomplished anything. What's the point of that?" Kaldur questions and I see Batman move to the center of the room and pulling up monitors starting to type away.

"Whoever it is and what he wants doesn't matter right now. What matters is getting you all somewhere safe until we can get the Cave's system up and running again." He explains giving up on typing and closing the monitors.

"And where exactly is half of our team gonna stay? In case you forgot, three other people here don't have a home away from home." Wally starts, about to go on a long tangent if Batman didn't interfere.

" I was getting to that. I'll talk to Superman and Martian Manhunter to get Megan and Superboy set up, although Megan might be the easier one to set up." He says mumbling that last bit out loud but mostly to himself.

"Then," Robin says, turning to bring attention to me." Where is Z gonna stay? He doesn't know anyone on a 'personal' level."

"Hmmm, I guess Z will have no choice but stay with me." This caused Robin to slightly choke and Wally to let out a gasp.

"What that is so unfair he gets to find out who Batman is before anyone else," Wall started, his little outburst caught the attention of Megan and Superboy, who although didn't finish clearing the rubble, came over and see what was going to happen next." I'm pretty sure nobody in The JL knows."

"They don't. And neither will Z. It shouldn't take longer than a few days to get things back in order and safe for you all. Till then...don't do anything to get yourselves in more trouble." Bruce says exiting the cave through the only things that still seem to be online, the tubes, and leaving us to our thoughts.

It didn't last long until Red Tornado showed up and gave everyone a heart attack.

"I have retu-" We all let out a yelp, cutting off Red and looking at him with wide eyes.

"Have I come at a bad time?" He questions us and Robin was the first that calmed down enough to speak.

"Dude! You have the worst timing." He exclaims putting a hand on his chest as everyone calms down and takes a breath.

There was a beat as we all started to laugh a bit to lighten the mood.

Everyone had already gone out to live with the JL's that would take them, Superman said he wouldn't be able to have Superboy over so Canary stepped up to keep him.

"You almost ready." I look over my shoulder to the entrance of my room to see Robin leaning on the door. I zip up my duffle bag before picking it up. I didn't have much in here since we won't be gone for that long so it's mainly filled with clothes and personal hygiene things.

"I'm ready now." I say as I walk out of the room past him and he leans off the door frame to follow.

"It's gonna be so weird having another person around that isn't A." He says resting one of hands on his hip after his comment.

'A? What is with Batman and Robin calling people by the first letter in their names?'

We go through the Zeta tubes and I see we are back in that alleyway that me and Batman were in when we went out earlier.

"Hang on for one moment." Robin says, I look over to acknowledge him only to see him go completely behind the dumpster that was there.

"Huh?" I question to...well I guess myself. Those two have way too much in common I swear. Robin walks back out a moment later in his normal clothes and shades and continues on walking out of the alley.

"I have a question?" I speak up after a few minutes of walking in silence and the occasional tune Robin would whistle to himself.

"Shoot."

"Why are you and Batman so... I don't know how to describe it." I sigh as I couldn't even finish my own question. Robin lets out a laugh, like an actual laugh, instead of his normal chuckle or creepy laughs he normally does.

"Yeah most people don't really know how to describe B," He starts after calming down from laughing. "Me on the other hand I'm pretty easy to understand when you're around me more often. When some people say that Bats is rude or distant or just doesn't care, I just want to laugh, 'cause they don't know him like how a small group of people in his life do. Just trust me when I say he's not a 'bad' guy he just...doesn't want someone to make a big mistake that could hurt them or others."

"You say that yet you and the team seem like you would cause him a massive headache." I retort back with a small and he gives an awkward one back.

"Yeah," He draws out. " I didn't say he or I was perfect. Sometimes he just needs to let go a bit, ya know?"

"I understand...I think." There was a beat before we both started laughing.

We had finally made it to Robin's place and it was so nice to look at. I couldn't stare for long as he started walking ahead to the front door.

"Fair warning Alf can be a bit, formal." He opens the front door letting himself then me in.

"Come on I'll show you to a room so you can put your things down and we can go harass Alf."

"You really do like causing chaos huh?" I say mostly to myself, I stop, having an actual question for Robin.

"Hey, Robin?" I catch his attention before he starts going up the stairs. " Why did Batman say I could stay here? From the sounds of it he and you don't exactly seem like you trust people to know who you are. Why are you risking that?" He thinks and for a moment I thought 'I shouldn't have asked'.

"To be bluntly honest," He starts. " I think Bats said he was okay with this because you're so removed from everything. You don't remember your old life and you don't remember anyone now. I think he's safe with the idea that even if you do know our real names and faces, you wouldn't be fazed and you wouldn't tell anyone."

"Hmm...Thanks, for being honest."

'I don't know why but hearing that makes me feel slightly...better. I want to know more and eventually figure out what happened.'
