Trans Ricky AU: Ricky Comes Out as a Boy

I'm Trans (me too buddy)

Rebecca had been with the Aquabats for almost a year, they were all super sweet and accepting when she came out as omni, but now something else was eating at them.
"I think I am a boy." He said, looking into the mirror. It wasn't the first time he thought about his gender identify he had never voiced it but now saying it, it felt right. He cut his hair about shoulder length a month ago, given it had grown a little, but looking in the mirror the thought of being seen as a guy. Being called 'he' was.. comfortable. He took one more look in the mirror and grabbed the scissors cutting chunck after chunck of hair. Ending with a rather messy haircut but he liked it, he looked in the mirror a final time and smiled, the biggest smile he had in a long time as tears stung at his eyes. He was startled by a knock on the door.
"Rebecca! Hurry up, I gotta pee!" Crash cried.
"Uh, Yeah just a second!" He replied, quickly grabbing the broom and dust pan from the corner and sweeping his hair into the trash.
"Sorry, bud." He smiled, opening the door to Crash trying to hold it.
"It's ok!" He said, rushing past him into the bathroom.
"Also I like your hair!" He yelled from behind the door. Rebecca smiled.

Jimmy, Commander and Eaglebones were in the living area of the Battletram, Commander and Crash were playing Mario Kart and the game was currently paused while Crash was using the bathroom. Eaglebones was tuning his gutair on the couch while Jimmy was chatting with Commander about the rules of Mario Kart. Eaglebones looked up from his gutair at Rebecca.
"Woah! You cut your hair again?" He said, trying not to stare.
"Uh, yeah." Rebecca smiled. Jimmy and Commander looking up from their conversation.
"Jeez, gringo, you cut it really short." Commander joked, getting a glance from Jimmy.
"It looks nice, however, if you'd like me to smooth it out to look more even I'd be happy to." Jimmy offered. Rebecca smiled,
"Yeah, I think I'd like that." Jimmy nodded,
"Once Crash is finished in the bathroom I'll help you."
"Thanks, Jimmy." Rebecca grinned, showing his braces.

Crash walked back into the room,
"Did you guys see Becca's new haircut!?" He exclaimed.
"Yes, we did, Crash." Jimmy said, walking over to Rebecca.
"Jimmy is going to help me make it look better." Rebecca explained.
"I like it now, it looks sick!" Crash said excitedly. Rebecca smiled at Crash before following Jimmy into the bathroom dragging a stool behind him.

Sitting the stool in fornt of the bathroom sink Rebecca hopped onto it, his feet not reaching the floor. Jimmy began to carefully cut his hair making it much more even.
"Was there a reason you decided to cut your hair?" Jimmy asked as he cut.
"I know some people cut it do to sensory issues and if that's an issue you're having with anything else I'm sure we can adjust things." Jimmy continued.
"Uhm.. No. I cut it for a different reason.." Rebecca began. Jimmy looked at him in the mirror thinking this must be important.
"I'm trans. Like, I'm a boy.. I think. I'm still not entirely sure but just saying I'm a boy feels right." Rebecca said, talking a bit faster than he'd like to admit. Jimmy blinked for a second before smiling.
"Thank you for telling me. Do you want to use he/him pronouns or have a perferred name?" Jimmy asked. Rebecca gave a huge and bright smile feeling accepted and happy.
"I don't know what name yet, Rebecca is fine but I do want to change to something more boyish. And he/him please." Rebecca beamed.
"Would you like some help with your new name?" Jimmy asked, continuing to cut his hair.
"I mean, sure." Rebecca answered. Jimmy looked deep in thought before asking,
"What about Richard or Ricky for short?"
"Ricky.. I like that." Ricky smiled. Jimmy nodded and finished his hair.
"All done. You look very handsome, Ricky." Jimmy said, placing a comforting hand on Ricky's shoulder. Ricky smiled from ear to ear, his braces very noticeable now.
"Do you plan on telling the rest of bats?" Jimmy asked.
"Yes, but not yet." Ricky replied, looking at the much neatier haircut.
"Do you want me to use he/him when talking about you even if I'm around them?" Jimmy question, wanting to make sure Ricky was as comfortable as possible.
"Yeah, I think that'd be ok." Ricky answered, turning to Jimmy before giving him a big hug. Jimmy smiled and hugged him back.
"Thank you." Ricky said, softly.
"Of course." Jimmy smiled.

For the next few weeks Jimmy used he/him for Ricky around the other bats. Crash went along with it and started saying 'he' too. Eaglebones and Commander were a little confused but didn't question it. But after they ate supper and were relaxing in the living room Ricky spoke up.
"Guys, I have something important to tell you." He said, nervously. Jimmy gave an encouraging smile and nodded for Ricky to continue.
"I'm trans. I'm a boy, and I use he/him pronouns now. I told Jimmy and that's why he started referring to me with them and sometimes calls me 'Ricky.'" Ricky stated. The room was silent for a second. Crash didn't fully understand what that meant but was happy to support his friend. Commander tilted his head looking at Ricky, thinking. Eaglebones blinked a couple times. Eventually, the room erupted with words of support.
"Yeah! You go, man!" Crash exclaimed.
"Hey, if you're a guy that's fine, we'll love you no matter what." Commander said, Jimmy nodding in agreement with him.
"That's cool, so do you plan on transition?" Eaglebones asked, curiously. Ricky teared up a little at the acceptance of his team, his family. Trying not to cry, he wiped tears from his eyes.
"Y- yeah, I think so. I want to get a binder and see how I like that first befors I make any big decisions." He replied.
"Guys! You know what this calls for?" Crash asked, with a big smile on his face. The bats looked at eachother not really knowing what he meant.
"GROUP HUG!" He shouted, practically tackling Ricky and Eaglebones who were sitting next to eachother. Commander and Jimmy joined in smiling and hugging eachother.
'Yeah, this feels right.' Ricky thought, hugging his family.
