Yelena has been keeping her feelings for Darius for years and her being unnoticed wasn't for nothing. She didn't hide it intentionally but she didn't reveal it as well. Maybe because of her aversion to him in the beginning people hadn't noticed her budding affection. After all, she had watched him use his words like a scoundrel to flirt with women at every chance he get. How could they imagine that the Saintess that found him so deplorable would have unrequited love for him now?

Yelena was skeptical of her feelings in the beginning as well but what can she do? If she hadn't been aware of it how could it catch the attention of others?

Yelena jokingly says "Your Highness... Why are you asking me this? Don't tell me that you took our jokes seriously?"

Miriam looked at Yelena seriously "Yelena, do not laugh. If you don't wish to tell me I understand, but you must not force yourself to smile."

It seem like she was too complacent, somebody had already taken notice of this secret.

Without admitting or denying it. "Sir Darius is... a capable man. One that is loyal to Kingdom. To him, this stood above all, like how my duties as a Saintess are to me."

She had decided the fate of her feelings last night. At the end of all her thoughts, there were two things she concluded.

"Your Highness, I am incredibly happy and lucky. Unlike others, I was given powers no one else has. Being a Saintess was a choice I made and it is still the choice I want. It gave me a chance to encounter incredible people and allowed me to feel that I have a sense of purpose in the world."

Yelena has never regretted being a Saintess nor did she regret falling for Darius. Both are a part of her. She was a human capable of falling in love and a Saintess entrusted by the people. If Darius had reciprocated her feelings in the past, she would have readily accepted. It was precisely because he didn't that Yelena could clearly discern their respective responsibilities. As a Saintess, she faced no prohibitions on love, but she yearned for a tranquil life after fulfilling her duties. She had decided to live in seclusion and watch the years unfold.

"For Sir Darius, I wish nothing but happiness."

It is because she held Darius in high regard, that she holds back on ever confessing her feelings. Yelena knows the importance of both love and loyalty. Not to mention that her love remained unrequited. She will never make Darius choose between the two. Darius can fall for another besides her but he can only have one king.

Her duties as a Saintess gave her happiness and she thought being a knight must be the same to Darius.

Darius was meant to live in glory along with his majesty.

Yelena didn't want to make things complicated and leave quietly. Alastair and Miriam have other ideas and wanted to send her off properly. After a lengthy discussion and negotiation, (Miriam crying) she decided to postpone for another day and attend the party.

Yelena didn't refuse, partly because she wants to see everyone and partly because she wished to have an excuse to see Darius one last time.

Yelena finds herself pathetic. Didn't she decide to give up?

Once Yelena woke up, Miriam kidnapped her and took her away to a boutique, then to a jewelry store, etc. Yelena wanted to refuse that a Saintess shouldn't be used to luxury but Miriam refused her refusal.

Miriam exclaimed, "Where do these rules even come from?"

"Well..." I made it.

Miriam pleaded to her "At least for today I want you to forget being a Saintess"
