"When did I get so lucky?" Theo's thoughts started to wander after Aiden left. "What did I do to deserve him? It's been so long I scarcely remember... Our first date, The picnic in the park. We took a walk, and i tripped over a stick like an idiot, but he caught me. But, uh, wait, no. Um, Before that. We were... oh right! We met each other during Algebra. I sat behind him during class, and I would get lost in my thoughts thinking about him. We would always partner up for projects. And this one time I had written some poetry in my math notebook and he saw it and stole my note book to read it, despite my protests. He read it, and told me it was really good. From there everything blossomed. Aiden encouraged me to pursue writing further. He sat with me through the good and the bad, cheering me on and staying right by my side."
It was then that it dawned on Theo. He realized that his inspiration didn't just come from the pages of planning in his notebook or the random thoughts that would appear in his mind at 3am. It came from Aiden. Aiden, with his contagious laughter and unwavering support, had become the source of his creativity and passion. As Theo sat at his desk, he reminisced through the memories that flooded his mind. He remembered the countless nights they spent together, curled up in each other's arms, sharing dreams and aspirations. They were each other's muse, their love fueling the fire that kept them going.
But the more he thought, the more Theo's heart began to ache. He thought more and more about how Aiden was always there for him but, was he always there for Aiden? The weight of his unspoken fears grew in his mind.. Those ever knawing thoughts of never being good enough, of Aiden realizing Theo wasnt good for him, of eventually losing Aiden, the one person who made him believe in love and all that was good in the world. The one person who made his words come alive on the page.
Lost in his thoughts, Theo didn't realize how much time had passed. When he snapped back to reality, though warmer than his thoughts, The room had grown darker, the silence become suffocating, and the air turned frigid. He longed for and agonized over Aiden's return. Would there be a warm smile to chase away the shadows that threatened to consume him? Or would a cold pair of eyes glaze over his body, condemning him to the growing cold?
After an eternity, the sound of the front door opening broke the spiral of Theos mind, and Aiden's footsteps followed closely after. Aiden entered the room, a smile playing at the corners of his lips. He placed the pizza and drinks on the bedside table, but as his eyes met Theo's they entered a similar state to Theo's, a mixture of sadness and longing."Theo," Aiden began softly, his voice tinged with uncertainty. "Is everything alright?"
"I love you, Aiden," Theo said, his voice cracking and his eyes fragile with tears. "But you deserve so much better than me, you deserve someone who can inspire you, who can give you the world... the way you do for me." Tears streamed down Theo's face as he watched Aiden rush across the room enveloping him in a warm embrace. Aiden held Theo tightly, his own tears mingling with Theo's. "No, Theo," Aiden whispered, his voice filled with determination. "You inspire me every single day. You are my world, and I don't want anyone else. I don't need anyone else." Theo's heart swelled with love and gratitude, realizing the intention and honesty behind Aidens words. But before Theo could express his gratitude for Aidens words of encouragement something happened that neither of them expected.
