As we get older, we begin to observe how life is different from what we perceived in the past and notice that the majority of what we wish for does not go according to plan. We take a moment to question what happened in our lives and wonder about the 'what-ifs' of our lives at times.
1. If I had moved out of our town to study in the city, would I be successful today?
2. If I had flirted before, do I have my own family now?
3. If I had pursued my passion for writing, would I be successful now?
4. If I didn't seek personal growth, would my mother still be alive?
5. If I go back to my town and seek opportunity, will this make me happy?
Life can be harsh and painful, but all the events in our lives are a part of our identity. It may not go according to what we want, but we must continue in our lives. The what-ifs of life should serve as a guide to continue and become a better version of ourselves. We must always remember that yesterday was past tense, tomorrow is future tense, and today is present tense. A present that must be cherished and looked after for a better future and a closure of the past.
