Wings, also known as Paul McCartney and Wings, was a rock band formed in 1971 by former Beatles icon Paul McCartney, his wife Linda McCartney, and former Moody Blues guitarist Denny Laine. The band became a showcase for Paul McCartney's masterful songwriting skills and the best-selling pop act of the 1970s, with an astonishing 27 U.S. Top 40 hits and five consecutive number one albums. The group officially disbanded in 1981, and tragically, with Linda McCartney's passing in 1998, all hopes of a potential reunion were permanently laid to rest.
