*The characters mentioned Zyggy, DZ, Munk, Karsh, Demeter Host and Erik (the dark fae) all belong to twitch streamer, writer and tiktoker Ish Ishness*Megan slowly opened her eyes as consciousness returned to her at the sound of the gentle crackles from the fire burning in the fireplace. She deeply inhaled and held her head as she sat up and looked around the room. She had been laying on a beautiful wide couch that was in what looked to be like a huge living space. It had two wide couches, a love seat, two big chairs, a small coffee table and the huge fireplace that was used quite often, but so beautifully kept.
She squinted at the pain in her head but walked over to the fireplace and stared in the flames, trying to remember what happened. It was all sort of a blur, but she remembered her ride with Ace, meeting the fae and then everything suddenly going dark while hearing a few voices all at once; including Munk and Host's. It suddenly hit her... Where was Ace and the ones who helped her escape?! She turned and ran from the fireplace towards the door when a tiny spark of light caught the corner of her eye. On the opposite side of the room were two huge window doors that led out to a large patio, and one of them had a single firefly clinging to it. She walked over to the door and smiled as she watched the firefly's light flicker. She opened the door as it flew away but froze as soon as she stepped outside. She hadn't realized it was dark and late at night, but the stars, fireflies and moonlight lit up the sky and shined enough light for her to see wherever she went.
The fireflies flew all around her and everywhere she looked, it made her inner child so happy to be surrounded by them; their light and gentle buzzing brought a touch of comfort and almost a peaceful feeling within her.
She gently sighed as she looked down and saw a beautiful blue butterfly resting on a flower. She knelt down to get a closer look when it suddenly flew away. She watched it fly off in a short distance and land on another flower. She knelt down again as it flew off once more and passed a figure walking in the darkness. She squinted and tried to get a better look. The fireflies were also flying around him and there was something about his energy and presence. It was peaceful, loving... familiar. He stopped walking and turned in the direction towards her with his head down and arms crossed, almost like he was deep in thought, but then he felt her presence in the distance and glanced up.
She gasped in excitement and joy at the sight of the stranger's face. Standing before her was the kind skeleton who protected her in the dream. Tears streamed down her face as she immediately remembered those beautiful white eyes that were full of compassion and brought so much comfort. He immediately recognized her too and ran up to hug her while she continued to tear up. She felt safe in his arms and her whole body relaxed in his embrace. She pulled away to look deep in those bright white eyes and tried to stop crying, but the tears kept coming. The skeleton lifted his hand to her cheek and wiped them away as Megan put both her hands on his face and rubbed his cheeks. He kissed her forehead and smiled warmly.
"You're safe now." She closed her eyes and smiled at the sound of his sweet and soft voice. It sounded exactly the same from her dream and she could feel the energy from him was also the same, which was safe, loving, calming and kind. "Thank you." She said when the tears finally stopped and found the words to speak. "I'm so happy to see you here in reality instead of a dream this time." He chuckled, hugged her once more and gently grabbed her hand as they walked back to the mansion. "What's your name?" "My name is Zyggy, and you're Megan?" She smiled and nodded. "Yeah. How'd you know?" "Munk told all of us your name yesterday." She grinned but looked confused. "You don't remember what happened, do you?" She shook her head at his question."I remember a few things but it's mostly a blur." Zyggy smiled and was happy to tell her all about it, and possibly help trigger her memory. "There were five of us that rescued you yesterday from Erik. You know, the dark fae? He tried to get you to tell him your name, but we saved you just in time." Her eyes slightly widened as she swallowed the breath that caught in her throat. "I didn't know his name but thank you for saving me. I wish I could thank the others as well." Her thoughts instantly went to Munk and Host, wondering what they were up to. "You will eventually get to thank all of them. The Ishness's, including myself help protect the community in this small town that you will soon be a part of." She squinted at his words, not fully understanding so he went on. "Not everyone can see us, but those in the community can, and they all have some sort of special ability. We helped form the town, so they all had a safe place to go and soon it will become a kingdom because the community is growing rapidly. We are always meeting new people who can see us and need our help, but now the community is being threatened by certain magical creatures who live here in this world. They want to rule the people and use them for their own selfish reasons." She gasped and hesitated before opening her mouth to speak. "That's incredible, Zyggy. And the dark fae? He's the one who wants to rule over them?" Zyggy nodded. "Yes, but enough of that for right now. The others will explain everything better when you meet them. Come with me. I made some cookies for you." He smiled as he grabbed her hand and led her out of the living space and into the kitchen. It was huge and it had everything you could dream of that a kitchen needed. Large cabinets with glass doors along the walls that were full of the most beautiful dishes and glassware, a tray of every spice and herb you could use, a huge refrigerator full of delicious food and an island counter coated with beautiful marble.
