"Talon!" Martha called
Martha was a beautiful woman with flawless skin. She has long dark brown hair. She has a bit of a temper but can control it...most of the time.
"Talon get over here now!"
"What is it Martha?" Talon asked tiredly
"You burnt another hole in the wall! I won't live with you burning holes in furniture and walls!"
Martha is Talon's sister. Their parents died together on a boat on their way to see their uncle. The boat was attacked by pirates. A year later, word of their death finally got back Talon and Martha.
"I try to control it but it's too hard. And you yelling at me for it doesn't help."
Talon possesses the magic of fire. But he doesn't know how to control it. Every time he's tries, he ends up burning holes in the walls or furniture. He once lit the entire house on fire. He tried to put out the fire by sucking the flames back into his fingers, but he only angered the flames and they grew larger. They finally put out the fire with the traditional water in a bucket. It took them a few years to fix the house so it wasn't charred and covered with ashes.
"I'm sorry Talon. I know you try to control it. But I think you should practice somewhere else. A place that is less likely to catch on fire." Martha said sympathetically
"But where? I can't do it in the castle or here. I can't do it in the big green meadow for the grass may catch on fire. Where do you suggest I go?" Talon asked
"Well. I heard of a mountain where many have learned and practiced magical arts. Perhaps you could go there?" Martha suggested
This mountain Martha speaks of is the place where magic first began. The four elements, fire, ice, air, and earth, were formed and created here. Parts of the elements were sent of into humans and other creatures so that they may use the power of the elements. But some of the elemental particals were placed in swords. These four swords became the four swords of power. The creator named each sword for what power it contained. Clarent, the Sword of Fire. Excalibur, the Sword of Ice. Durendal, the Sword of Air. Joyeuse, the Sword of Earth.
"How long of a journey is it from here?" Talon asked
"I believe it is about 3 days walk." Martha said
"I shall leave at dawn then." Talon said
