' Dad, Mom, I'm off to school' Mellie said, coming down the stairs, her school bag slung on one shoulder.
' Okay, Mel. Be good at school' Her mom replied, not facing her which was very unusual.
" Mmm hmm' Her ever grumpy dad said.
'  Mom, is something wrong? I haven't gotten my goodbye kiss, you know? '
' Gideon, tell your daughter what is going on. The silence is killing me'
' Woman, would you stop that? '
' Mom, Dad, what's going on here?' She asked, already getting scared.
' Daughter, I'll talk to you after school. Now, off you go' Her dad said with a small smile.
' Okay, dad. See you later, Mom' She said, dragging her feet towards the door, lost in thought and wondering what was going on.

Did anybody die? Did anything happen to her ever bossy sister? Fine, she was bossy but she was still her sister and she loved  her  too much to bear it if anything happened to her. No it couldn't be her sister . If it was her sister, her father wouldn't be that calm.
Daniella was Daddy's girl after all.

Was her dad sick? Was it a terminal disease?
No, what was going to happen to her family now?

Or were they in trouble? Did her dad borrow from loan sharks or get into trouble with mafia?

No,her life couldn't turn into a Wattpad cliche story just like that. What now?

She kept thinking of different scenarios of what could have happened. Oh an overthinker is who you could call Mel. She didn't even know when her two best friends joined her on the way.

' Hey, you can't even say good morning' Tricia said, twirling her newly dyed hair with her little finger.

' Don't mind her, she just wanted you to notice her hair' Tristan said and sneered.

' Hey guys, good morning. I didn't notice you were here already. And Tricia, why green of all colours?' Mellie said, gasping.

' New look, babes, new look. At least it matches with my outfit' Tricia said.
She was wearing a green crop top and khaki pants .
Mellie checked her out and rolled her eyes.
This girl was definitely not normal.
' Triciaa...' She said.
' Ask God why she was made my twin, I don't know what I did in my past life to deserve her. Like we are totally different' Tristan said, groaning.
' And I don't know why I was stuck with a disrespectful younger brother' Tricia sassed.
' Younger brother, huh? It was two minutes, Tricia, just two minutes' Tristan said, holding up two of his fingers in a frustrated manner.
' And those two minutes, dear little brother , will be your undoing' Tricia said and sashayed away, flipping her hair as she did.
' Arghh' Tristan facepalmed himself.

-----------------------------------

They were walking back to the locker room after their first class.
" Guys, I don't know what's going on but there's something Dad wants to tell me and I have a feeling it's something bad"
' Now what does your grumpy old man want this time' Tricia said, popping a bubble gum into her mouth, and ignoring the glare Tristan sent her.

' Mels, whatever happens, we'll be here for you, always. Through thick and thin' Tristan said to Mellie, grinning as he threw an arm across her shoulder.

Heavens, this guy always made her go crazy and brought butterflies to her  stomach. Who would believe that she had a crush on her best friend right from middle school. She had always daydreamed about him and wished secretly that he would ask her out someday.
Alas, Tristan just didn't like her that way, but he liked someone else on the cheerleading group but that didn't stop her heart from wanting him even if she knew she wasn't his type.
Well, this was her fate, she was not as pretty as all the girls Tristan crushed on and Tristan had a good taste in girls , anyways.

Tristan liked blondes but poor her was stuck with brown hair. He was attracted to popular girls but she was just old plain Jane.
She consoled herself with the fact that she was his friend anyways, she has a chance to be with him but not without Tricia always with them so she never had a moment alone with him.
Okay she wasn't supposed to be thinking this way, the three of them were friends , weren't they?
Bff goals, right?
She'll be fine, she thought.
' I'll see you at lunch, right' The guy that occupied her thoughts burst through.
' Yeah, see you later' she opened her locker and picked her books for the next class.

-----------------------------------------------------

Mellie was the last to join their table during break, she had to use the restroom first.

As she settled and started eating her food, she was asked a question by Tricia.
' Hey, have you heard from Margaret Thatcher' Tricia said, wiggling her eyebrows.
' Nope, she never calls, you know. I swear we are the weirdest sisters ever.' She replied, munching on her chips.
Margaret Thatcher was the nickname that Tricia called Mellie's sister, Daniella and that was because she was very bossy.
' Enough about that witch, what are the plans for your big eighteen' Tristan said.
He didn't like Daniella one bit.
' I don't know, I'm not worried, it's still about three months away, I have other things to worry about' Mellie replied.
' Dad promised our personal rides for our birthdays and I seriously can't wait' Tricia said with glee .
The twins' birthday were in a month's time and Tricia just couldn't keep quiet about it.
She had wanted a particular car for a long time and now that she would get it soon she was so excited.
Tristan could care less.
' How about you focus on your final exams and stop dreaming about cars, Miss I'm- so-obsessed-with-cars? ' Tristan scolded, with a smirk on his face.
He wanted to annoy his sister again.
' it's none of your business, mister' Tricia snapped, pointing a fork at her brother.
' Hey, hey, drop that' Tristan said, laughing.
' Or what' Tricia threatened.
Mellie just smiled as she watched the very different twins that were her best friends.
