They left Luke to recover, bringing Sfin with them and rushing back to the newly fueled copter. Logan glaned at Lee who held the palmTop with El's location, heartrate and other things on it. El had permitted them to finally being able to discover the other sides headquarters. They had always wanted the location and now that they had it he hoped El didn't have to be sacrificed because of it.

He didn't know why he had such a strong reaction to El being taken. She was just a girl after all. He closed his eyes, clenching his hands into fists-

-only for them to flash open when the PalmTop blared as Els heart sped up dramatically. Everyones attention was drawn to it in alarm. Lees lips were drawn into a thin, straight line. "We're not going to make it in time," Amy murmered with glazed eyes.

Logans anger rose at her pessimism but he didn't succumb to the frustration. It would only make things worse. He knew that from experience, so he gritted his teeth and tried to relax. Easier thought then done.

The coptor was much faster than all average military helicopters. It ran on a combination of solar rays, oxygen, moisture in the air and CO2. It was extremely fast but, Logan thought with dread and trepidation, would it be fast enough.

My response was well thought out and confabulated. I leaned up so our noses almost touched and I took a deep breath. Steeling myself for what I was about to do. Getting ready. Then, I burped, releasing the carefully brewed gas in my stomach in a thunderous and vociferous concoction that had the man falling back, furiously wiping at his face. Dad would be proud.

I roared with laughter, despite the pain in my jaw. Ignoring it, wanting to go out with laughter.

He came forward in anger and slammed his fist into my gut. I felt all the air rush out of me and my body wanted to instinctually double over but the chains prevented me.

"Why aren't I changing?" I gasped when I got some of my breath back.

He came forward, lips peeling back over his teeth. He stretched his hand out and it came to rest between my breasts on the new necklace there I hadn't noticed before. It burned and I hadn't noticed because of all the other pains I felt. "This," he said, "Silver and a few other harnessed ingrediants, stops you from becoming a wolf." He shook the syringe in front of my face and proceeded to walk around the room, tapping his chin thoughtfully.

Suddenly he jerked forward, staring into my eyes with an expression you would be more apt to see on the face of a doting pathologist who has just recieved a new cadaver with an unknown disease.

Goosebumps came up on my arms and I shuddered. He made a noise in the back of his throat and stood, looking down on me. This time when he came forward he yanked my head violently to the side and located a vein. He put the needle to the skin but didn't stop there. He slid it smoothly in and poised his finger over the plunger.

"Last chance," he grinned.

My heart beat widely, a mad dance. A mile a second and I was afraid it was going to blow up. I swallowed thickly and wished my heart luck for it would need it in a few seconds.

The ground sped by below as Logan stared at the spot where El had went overboard. His fingers clenched at the handle of his favorite type of dagger. His breathing was slow and calm, ready for the fight that was coming increasingly closer.

Everyone fidgeted while Lee stared at the PalmTop. "Almost there," she murmered, loosening the holsters around her waist and drawing a pistol. She shoved the PalmTop into a pocket and stood, holding onto a leather padded bar for balance
