*~*~* Alexis' POV *~*~*

"Rise and shine ladies! All students must report to the Dining Hall immediately! Don't even bother getting dressed out of your pajamas, just come down and you may get ready after. We will only take up a portion of your morning."

"I wonder why she won't let us change into-"

"Shut up! People are trying to sleep!"

And that's me. I'm Alexis Wild, I'm 14 now and not a morning person as you can tell and I absolutely hate my principals morning wake up call/announcements; they are just crude ways for our principal to torture us!

My school is Abbey Cartright Academy, I am currently a Freshman (I've been attending this school since I was 11) a school for all girls that want to train to become the best in softball, but at the same time we are just a regular school; we all go to class, have homework, have a mean principal, and we have rules, but very few. The only thing that sets us apart from other schools is that our school looks like a mansion made for a billionaire, people think we are snotty and total brats because it looks like we all are filthy rich kids with no feelings, but we aren't. All of us here were chosen especially because of our talent, even though we only need 12-15 players, we hav over 200 girls at my school and can fit another 300 of we wanted to!

I got chosen to be here when I was in 6th grade, we had our championship game against the hardest team in state. The top of the last inning had just ended and we scored in 3 runs, now winning by 2. I had to pitch and just needed to get three outs then we would take home the biggest trophy of our whole life! I struck out the first girl and the second got a hit off of my curve in. she was currently on third when I pitched a curve out and my catcher totally messed up! The ball hit the tip of her glove and rolled toward first base. I ran to home while she ran to get the ball, but couldn't get it in time, the girl slid into home and scored, leaving only one more point to tie the game and go into extra innings. The next batter was their best hitter and already hit 2 home runs off of me. I pitched my hardest fastest ball I possibly could and let out a little grunt at the end. She swung and missed by a long shot. Aha! I found her weakness! She swings to slow to hit my fastball! I pitch it again and much to my relief, a swing and a miss! Now it came down to the last strike.... My catcher called a time out, she ran to me

"Hey she's starting swing faster and she almost nipped that last pitch.. I think you should throw a change up and catch her off guard."

"Ok, sounds good. I didn't even realize how close she was! Thanks! Now hurry up and go back before they raise their suspicion,"

I said shooing her away. She went back and she made the sign for the fastball, just in case they caught on. I pitch my change up and got so excited when I saw her swing too early and miss the ball completely! I ran toward my catcher and jumped on her screaming! After the game a woman approached me and told me all about ACA and ever since then, I have been apart of this school. But enough about my background stuff!

My best friend, Jamie Lynn, or better known as Spitter for having a mouth on her and for being the best seed spitter at our school, jumped on me yelling

"Wake up sleepy head! Or do you want an EMD?!"

"Ugh I hate Early Morning Detentions! I just don't get why she makes us go to the Dining Hall when she can just tell us over the speakers!"

I complained as I pushed her off me and walked to the bathroom to brush my teeth before I go down to the Hall with morning breath.

"I know it's odd because she usually does... Maybe this is something big.. THEY COULD BE SHUTTING DOWN THE SOFTBALL TEAM!!!"

She screamed as she started to pace the room with her tooth brush now in her mouth mumbling incoherent words until she stopped dead in her tracks, stopped brushing her teeth, and talked clearly,

"Maybe she's retiring!!!!"

And at that mention I got so happy and excited about the meeting that as soon as she washed her mouth I dragged her out into the hallway and ran toward the stairs, we sprinted into the Hall and saw that some of the girls from my floor weren't down so we waited. Everyone was buzzing with gossip about what's going on, one girl that's on our JV team said that she heard we were getting a new Olympic trainer that was a 3 time gold medalist, another said that someone pulled a prank on the school and hid all our gloves and bats, etc. all this gossip just made me more excited to see what's happening.

The doors flung open and in came our little monster as a principal with a strange man I've never seen before in my life. He walked in behind her, following her onto the podium in the front of the Hall. He was a tall lean man, dark hair, dark eyes, and a chiseled face. He looked in his 40s but he also looked like he was in his 30s.. It was weird.

"Good morning girls, today will be a very eventful day because today we have a guest speaker, Mr. Frank King, president of Gerald Academy,"

she stepped aside so Mr. King could step up. He smiled and looked excited and also... Turned on?!?! That's disgusting! He's old!

"Goodmorning ladies! I hope you all had a good sleep-"

"Yeah until you woke us up at 8 on a Saturday morning!"

Spitter yelled back while the rest of the girls erupted in laughter at her comment.

"Yes, my apologies, but recently my school had a mishap happen and got burned down. Your gracious principal offered to combine our schools to make an Academy educating both girls and boys, since we focus in baseball as well. My boys will be coming at around noon today. I'm sorry to inform you but because this is such late notice, none of the boys rooms are ready so they will be bunking with you ladies."

At that the room erupted into chatter. BOYS!! WERE THEY CRAZY!!

"Ladies! Calm down and go get ready for the day! You must clean your rooms and be out on the field for training before our other half of the school body comes,"

she says. She sees none of us move,

"Well chop, chop ladies! We only have 3 hours and 30 minutes until the boys arrive!"

On that note we all run to our rooms and busy ourselves cleaning our rooms and finding our gear for training.

After training, I stayed after to try and beat my record of 65 mph on my fastball, but only got up to 60. After another hour of pitching I walked back to the house, trying to figure out when I can pitch again. I entered the house and saw all the girls dressed in skirts and dresses, with makeup, hairs done, and... Is that lip gloss? I didn't feel like changing so I just stayed in my softball clothes. My hair was a brunette mess in a pony tail with a big blue bow, that matched my blue t-shirt that had purple shades on the front and said 'Swag', black tight softball pants, light blue socks and my white training cleats. I looked in the mirror and saw my deep forest green eyes staring back, my nose small, but big at the same time, and my full lips a light pink. My tan skin looked lighter in-, My thoughts were interrupted by the doorbell ringing. I grabbed the door since I was closest, swung it open, and without bothering to see who it was I said

"Hello! Welcome to ACA!"
