Anurag and Prerna are childhood friends who live in a slum in Mumbai. Anurag is a street-smart guy who sells movie tickets in black, while Prerna is an aspiring actress who works as an extra in films. Anurag secretly loves Prerna, but he never expresses his feelings to her. He always encourages her to pursue her dreams and supports her in every way.

One day, Prerna gets noticed by a famous actor, Rishabh Bajaj, who is impressed by her beauty and talent. He offers her a lead role in his upcoming film, Rangeela, which is directed by his friend Komolika. Prerna is thrilled by this opportunity and agrees to do the film. She starts spending more time with Rishabh and Komolika, who groom her for the role and introduce her to the glamorous world of Bollywood.
Anurag feels happy for Prerna, but he also feels insecure and jealous of Rishabh. He tries to hide his feelings from Prerna, but he can’t help feeling hurt when he sees her getting close to Rishabh. He also feels left out when Prerna becomes busy with the film and neglects their friendship. He decides to let go of Prerna and move on with his life.
However, Prerna soon realizes that she is not in love with Rishabh, but with Anurag. She misses Anurag’s presence in her life and his unconditional love for her. She also realizes that Rishabh is not the man she thought he was. He is arrogant, selfish, and possessive of her. He tries to control her life and career, and he doesn’t respect her feelings or opinions.
On the day of the premiere of Rangeela, Prerna decides to confess her love to Anurag and leave Rishabh. She calls Anurag and asks him to meet her at the theatre. Anurag is surprised by her call, but he agrees to come. However, before he can reach the theatre, he gets attacked by some goons who work for Rishabh. Rishabh has found out about Prerna’s plan and he wants to stop her from meeting Anurag.
Prerna waits for Anurag at the theatre, but he doesn’t show up. She gets worried and calls him again, but his phone is switched off. She then sees Rishabh coming towards her with a smile on his face. He tells her that he loves her and he wants to marry her. He also tells her that he has sent Anurag away from Mumbai forever.
Prerna is shocked and angry by Rishabh’s lies and betrayal. She slaps him hard and tells him that she hates him. She also tells him that she loves Anurag and she will never leave him. She runs out of the theatre, looking for Anurag.
Meanwhile, Anurag manages to escape from the goons and reaches the theatre. He sees Prerna running towards him, crying. Seeing her crying Anurag try to lighten the air and say
