I love Sugimoto Saichi and Ogata Hyakunosuke, but I love Sugimoto more because he's so sweet. Ogata the Wildcat...? If that man had the ability to love and trust, I would be all over him. To be honest, I may make a chapter on that poor, unfortunate man.

SUGIMOTO SAICHI.. never thought of settling down. He wanted to explore and continue on his long adventure with his partner, Asirpa until he grows old and peacefully dies. The only problem is that he met you and every plan had changed. You were stunning. You were kind. You were strong. You were courageous. And, you were so, so, so, so tempting.

SUGIMOTO SAICHI.. believed that he could never love or have feelings for a woman like he did Umeko, but there you were, in all your glory—It was easy for him to fall in love, but it was hard for him to unveil those feelings that were buried deep within his heart for you.

And deep down, SUGIMOTO SAICHI didn't want to love you—he wanted to be far from you, but the way you took care of him and Asirpa when they needed it, and the way you always lended a shoulder and an ear when his PTSD attacks came at night was what he needed.

He needed companionship.

He needed love.

He needed happiness.

He needed a restart in his life that included you in that whimsical picture.

Before SUGIMOTO SAICHI had left to finish searching for the treasure, he vowed to you that he would be back for you, and when he is to come back, he'll ask you for your hand in marriage and for you to be with him up until you both perish from the world. That day, you had painfully saw the trio off whilst hoping they safely return back from their journey.

The day they had came back, SUGIMOTO SAICHI had approached you from behind and called out your name—the moment you turned around to look at him, he threw his arms around you and swallowed you up into his huge embrace as you hugged him back tightly and welcomed him back through tears.

SUGIMOTO SAICHI.. had officially asked you that day to be his wife and to come live with him and Asirpa at her village. You agreed, and everything went from there.

Now, you usually stayed at home with Huci and Osoma and the other villagers whenever Asirpa and Sugimoto are out hunting for meat. You would play and teach the young kids whenever they pleaded for your attention, and you would also help make new clothes and medicines for the villagers' as Huci always sat beside you complimenting you on how you're a lovely soul and how Sugimoto chose well.

Whenever SUGIMOTO SAICHI and Asirpa returned from their adventures, Saichi would always be marching his way over to you to embrace you, but you would always be darting it over to Asirpa to hug her. Once you're in her arms, she'll be teasing him behind your back about how he's not getting hugged and he'll get so aggravated that he would separate you two just for him to hug you and pick you up while twirling you all around. He would pamper your face with kisses all over as you laugh in joy at him being so needy for your touch and embrace.

SUGIMOTO SAICHI.. now had a huge love-hate relationship sitting and eating with you and the others since Asirpa loved to dramatically inform you about his embarrassing moments while on the journey to find the gold. You would always be smiling, laughing, and looking over at him in question as he tries to get her to shut up by covering her mouth. Even Osoma would be laughing and running around, repeating the same words that Asirpa had said as he now also tried to restrain her. These nights were something he adored since he was with the people he loved and cared for, but those memories were so embarrassing to hear!
