I am woken by two small hands on my back, shaking me. I groan and turn onto my side, facing the intruder. "What do you want?" I spit. "We need you up on the balcony. Boss' orders." I recognise the voice immediately. It belongs to Peter, a small boy who runs around after our leader. I sigh. "Can't it wait till later? It's only..." I turn and look at the battered alarm clock that rests on the rotting bedside table. The fading red digits read 2:37 am. "Liam, It's urgent." He pleads. I sigh yet again and slowly get up, stuffing my cold feet into a pair of worn blue slippers and slide my arms into a special waterproof hunting jacket. I zip it right up and follow Peter through the chipped door and follow him up the twisting staircase that leads out onto the balcony. The cold, crisp air chills me to my bones. The hunting jacket offers little warmth. I walk slowly over to where a group of about 8 children stand. The group consists of Luna, our leader, her two bodyguards, Peter, 3 fighters and two others I can't name. They're staring out over the large concrete balcony wall. I frown. "What are they looking at?" I ask myself. No one turns to greet me, so I trudge over and stand beside one of my friends, Joe. I lean next to him and whisper "What's going on?" In answer, he points to the darkness in the distance. I take a step closer to the edge. My eyes scan the empty wilderness, seeing nothing but pitch blackness. But then I see a movement in one of the bushes. Suddenly, a figure emerges from the foliage. Then another. Then another. In a few seconds, the clearing that once stood empty is packed with the bodies of the things. My mouth drops open as I realise what they are. The Risen.
