I woke up and looked at the screen.

An incoming call. It was 3 a.m., so I didn't expect anyone calling me in that moment, but the reason I answered the phone was because it was my mom.

I didn't even had time to speak.

- Oh Betty, I need you to come home now! -she said with a cracked voice.

- Mom, what happened?

- I'll tell you later.

- Fine. -And I hung up the phone.

I took the coat, the car keys, I rushed to the parking lot and started driving to get there.

When I arrived, I hugged my parents and tried to calm them down. It had been an hour, my mother kept sobbing and my father was in shock. I couldn't believe it at that time.

Right now, I don't want to get on detail because it hurts, but long story short, my sister is no longer here. I really want to know what happened, what ended with her life, what killed her, but I can't, because the police already came and made us leave. One of the officers told us that they will give us some news tomorrow and while we left, we decide that my parents are going to stay at my house tonight.

We get in the car and I drive through the streets in silence, I have this thought about turning the radio on, but I immediately regret it. I rather keep this awkward silence than start crying over a song.

When I open the door, I show my parents where they are going to sleep. The place I live in is a one flat house. When you enter, you have a large hall that diversifies in six rooms. In the left we have the kitchen, and two bathrooms, and in the right side there is a living room, and two bedrooms.

- Do you want something to eat? -I ask.

- No darling, we are fine. - dad replies.

- Okay, see you tomorrow.

- Goodnight Betty. - My mother says.

I leave the bedroom and head towards mine. I close the door when I'm in, put my pyjamas on and get in the bed. I don't know how, but I manage to fall asleep.

...

First day of the second term of baccalaureate . It's been two weeks and I feel like the worst person ever. We found out that Cassie died because of a heart attack. It was immediate, there wasn't any possibility of saving her and I didn't tell her that I loved her as much as she deserved. She was twenty, she had all her live for enjoying, and feeling and experiencing.

Somehow, I stand up, get dressed decently, have breakfast and lead my way to class. Am I ready? Not at all, but I don't want to miss the most important assignments. When I get to class, I assume that absolutely no one is going to be there, but for some reason the is nowhere to sit, something that never happens. I try to walk through the crowd, however it feels like being trapped in a cage, when you try to take a step forward there is plenty of people pulling you the other way. It's exhausting and overwhelming, but I also have to reach a place to spend the next six hours in there, so the only method I think about is screaming.

I shout at the top of my lungs.

- Ok, I think we're going to get along, miss Sparks. - Poppy, the teacher, says with a smile.

- I'm sorry.

- Don't worry.

I feel like everyone is watching me as I sit down.

- Ok, so now we are going to take notes about...

...

At lunch time I regret being there because whenever I have a couple minutes for myself all the thoughts come again and I cannot take them out of my head. At first, I try not to show them and look good, but is impossible, so I finally go to the bathroom and cry into my hands until I feel brave enough to go out again and let people see me.When I go out of the cubicle, I hear someone's voice.

- Hey, maybe I'm being an impertinent but, are you alright?

- Yes, don't worry...

- Lana, my name is Lana. - she says and shows her hand as a handshake. She's a bit taller than me, she has blonde hair, big green eyes and this type of enthusiastic personality that I would love to have one day.

- Nice to meet you Lana, my name is Betty. - I answer with a handshake.

- Nice to meet you, Betty.

And that's how I met one of the most important people in my life.
