~the goblin king~

By the afternoon we reached the mountain. It took longer than I had wanted but we made it. Traveling with 2 people is much better than 13 dwarfs and a hobbit. I'll tell you that much. We came to a holt at the foot of the mountain. "Do you have any idea how we are going to get to them?" I asked.

"There are a few methods we could try but it would require us leaving the horses." My father answered. Truly I did not want to leave Kez. I gave a look of discomfort to my father. It was time to climb. Up. Up into the heart of the mountain. A second later we were climbing. I still didn't have a plan for how to get to the dwarfs.

My Kez was sent ahead along with Ada's horse. The rocks were no problem to me. Me being nimble and quick helped. It took my father more time but he managed. I took all of my weapons from Kez. I also had a small pack of supplies and a few water skins that were full. If need be we could melt snow for water.

After about 4 hours of climbing we stopped to rest and for breakfast. "There are goblins in this mountain." Blurted my father. "We will need to find a way in" he adds. Goblins. Dreadful creatures. Truly the worst race of middle earth. "If we climb just a bit more I can see an opening to the mountain." I looked up about 40 ish feet. "Then let us continue at once!" My father stood his staff in hand and began to March up the mountain.

I kept a slower pace to keep up with the wizard. I could climb this whole mountain and back in less than an hour but for Gandalf's sake I was very slow. It was about mid day when we reached the opening. It was larger than I had thought. The sun was beating down on my back and my hands were starting to freeze. "This is good." I spoke. "In a matter of minutes we'll be in and save them." I stopped in my tracks. "Yes, yes indeed." Grumbled the wizard.

How on earth do we save them? I thought gently creeping tinto the mountain entrance. My feet shuffled across the hard rock. Ada took a great lead in front of me and began sprinting about 10 or 20 yards ahead. I was puzzled but chased after him quickly. We reached a wall? A rock wall? I looked at my father confused. "Prepare your arrows!" He demanded "Quickly!" I did as he said.

Suddenly, there was a massive explosion of bright light flinging goblins in the air and destroying what I can only imagine were torturing machines. Everyone was knocked down, including the Great Goblin. When the force of the explosion passed, most of the light in the area had been snuffed out. Ada and I walked up, he held his staff and his sword, I was armed with my bow ready to kill. "Take up arms. Fight. Fight!" I shouted to no one in particular.

The dwarves quickly got up and begin fighting the horrific creatures. As goblins ran to Gandalf, he killed them with his sword and staff without a moment of hesitation. I wanted The Great Goblins head. As he lay on the rocky ground yelling to his Kin I sprint. Faster than ever.

I could see some of the dwarves running to reach their pile of weapons and begin tossing the weapons to each other slaughtering the goblins in between. Oin manages to reclaim his hearing trumpet, although it has been quite flattened. Nori, while fighting, lands on the floor; the Great Goblin runs at him and swings his mace.

"Nori!" I yell. Thorin jumps forward and deflects the Great Goblin's blow, causing the Great Goblin to stumble backward and fall off the edge of his platform, falling to the depths below. The rest of the dwarves and Gandalf continue to fight. "I wanted his head!" I spit into the pit then run to follow the others. "Follow me. Quick! Run!" Shouts my father. I cut down the goblins around me , the dwarves and Gandalf run along a pathway leading away from the throne room.

Gandalf and the rest of our company run through the suspended passageways of Goblin Town, with hundreds of goblins running after us. I shoot at least 7 before I remember I need to pace my arrows or I'll run out quickly. I switch to my short sword as fast as I can, cutting goblins into ribbons. "Post!" Dwalin shouts. He and some of the dwarves cut a guardrail post from the side of the path and they hold it out in front of them like a massive spear. "Charge!" He growls.
