Third POV
The trio travels into the forest farther away from home. Merlin hopes to find the answers that he seeks. He leads the others to a stone carving.
"Trekk carefully, please. One wrong step and you could be lost foeever. Stay close to me." Merlin whispers as he walks past the carving and finds himself stepping onto a road of sorts. Arthur and Lancelot walk right behind Merlin, looking about to see what they have just stepped into.
"I didn't see this road here before, Merlin, where are we?" Arthur looks around again, then turns his attention back to Merlin for an answer to his question.
"Someone wants to come to who ever they are. Or something. I had hoped this would take place, just stay close to me. All will be well." Merlin stalks off down the road, with the two in tow. As they walk the road, there was many other turns and twists throughout the stoned pathway. This way or that way, but no matter what, the others followed Merlin. Finally, they reach a cave of some sort, it looked like a dwelling, but it couldn't be not with all the weird signs and symbols hanging around it.
Merlin looks back at Lancelot and Arthur,"I must go alone; wait out here."
With this said, he walks into the cave slowly disappearing into the darkness of the cave. He walked carefully, trying not to step on any thing that held a sign that of the old religion.
"What brings Emrys into our cave? What do you seek to know?"
Merlin spins on his heels and sees the three he has come for. The Diris. They are of the old religion and are responsible for what happens to you. Good or bad. They are known well back in Merlin's younger years. Some people would come here out of free will to decide their fate, others would get a coin. It held what happens to the accused. This could be man or woman, they hold no bias actions.
"Why are you here warlock? I will not ask this again, if you have come to decide your fate, then let us commence, if not, leave and do not come back, or you shall have a rude awakening later on in life." The one on the left says with a grin smugly upon her face.
"I have come to decide my and Arthur's fate. As well as see them, if you all shall grant this." Merlin voice booms in the cave, causing them all to cringe at the power that has been shown. He could destroy them, but he dis walk into their cave, and has asked this of them.
"We three shall ask you one question each. The answers that you give will select the fate of your own doing. We will not allow you to see the ones that you have chosen, you can find this out yourself in do time." The one on the right says, trying to stand up with pride after the still echoing voice of Merlin.
"As you wish, please. Ask away." With this, Merlin nods his head and stands waiting for the first question to be asked.
"My question, what do you deem the most precious thing in this world?" The right one asks, trying to be sympathetic.
"It is not an object that I find precious, it is a person, and that is Arthur. He is my most dear friend."
"Hmm, now we all know that there is more in your heart for him than just friendship." She says, stepping back to signal to the others that she has done what she wishes.
"My turn Emrys. What is your dream? The one that you want most in the whole world. Your deepest dream that you desire to come true." The left one smiles out of hatred, for she always didn't like the warlock. She thought that he had too much power.
"My answer from the first question shall so for this one as well, Arthur. For he shall save the world from Morgana's evil and end what has been started all those years ago." Merlin says, knowing that the Fates could be tricking him in all of this. Merlin has no choice but to answer these questions with the truth, for they have put him between a rock and a hard spot.
"Emrys. You have answered all of the questions that my sister's have asked. Now your final question is mine. Will you with out a doubt,no matter what the cost, kill Morgana Pendragon, the high priestess of the old religion, can you for fill this?"
The final Fate asks me, it is the most difficult question out of all three. It is a simple request, but it is hard to answer.
"I don't know. I have no clue what the future holds, and if she needs to die, then she will, but I still even after all she has done, consider her still my friend. The Morgana I know from Camelot still exists, somewhere in the hate and anger that has captured her body. My answer is no, but I will find a way to stop her without killing her. She doesn't deserve to die. This is the hardest question out of all the others, tell me please, why ask me this question?" Merlin looks directly into her eyes and finally hangs his head as he hears the answer to his own question.
Merlin walks out of the cave seeing Arthur and Lancelot still there, sitting on a bunch of rocks.
"Hey so, how did it go? Did you find what you where looking for?" Lancelot asks lifting his head up from where it rested.
Merlin tries to avoid the eyes of his companions as he walks with them out of the door way of the cave.
"Before we go home, we must make another stop, I must figure out what I may have caused. It could be the end, or our victory that I just sentenced us to. But I have not found what I need to know, I hope that in this next stop, I will know what we have to face. Come, we must hurry, it is almost night, and non of us wants to be in this place when night falls." Merlin and the others quickly reach a little bit farther from their old camp sight, and then they all sleep with Merlin's magic protecting them again, still Arthur stays up, trying to understand what Merlin had said and figure out his next plan. Magic dances around Arthur again, like the last time, but, of different memories and visions.
The one that stood out of all, was the one of the great Dragon, and Merlin speaking to him; on a lake's shore. With himself there, dead.
