I look around the destructed school grinning. Nobody ever thought I was capable of such destruction but here I am standing bloodied and bruised as walls crumble around me.
"Leah please!" I hear a voice wail behind me. I snap my head around seeing my old friend Lily crumbled on her knees, arms crossed around her and her face streaked with dirt and tears. "This isn't you! Don't let him in your head this isn't you!" She cries uselessly.
"This is me Lily! It's always been me! Years of hiding behind a smile, years of being pushed behind you! Years of being your shadow Lily! Years of it!"
Red floods my vision as I lift my wand shakily towards the crumpled red head in front of me. Something snapped in me, it hurt, everything hurt. "Lily... Lily I'm sorry. Don't hate me.."
My eyes widen and I drop my wand. My head bursting in pain. "You foolish girl! She'll only ruin the plan. Kill her! Kill her now!" I drop my wand raising my hands to my head blocking out everything as I drop to my knees.
"Leah he's gone! He's dead! You killed him, but it's not to late to turn around. This isn't you, this isn't real. Wake up, wake up!" Something starts shaking me and I open my eyes groaning.
"Wake up Leah!" Lily echoes in my ear for what seems like the thousandth time. "We are gonna miss the train!" I groan and roll out of bed. "I just had the worst dream of my life."
"Tell me about it." She says. I open my mouth to tell her but right as I'm about to start the memories of my dream zoom out of my mind quicker than Rome burnt down.
"Well?" She says waving her hands dramatically. "Never mind. What time is it?" She sighs. "Almost 5:30." My eyes widen and I look at Lily with what I try to make an angry expression. "You woke me up at FIVE FREAKING THIRTY THIS MORNING?"
"SHUT UP!" Marlene yells throwing a pillow at the back of my head. Like me, Marlene has been staying at Lily's house for that latter part of the summer because the two years before both of us nearly missed the train.
"It's 5:30 Lils we won't miss the train just let me sleep..." I roll over to go back to sleep and that's when I feel cold air hit my bare legs and I groan. I look over at Lily and she's standing there at the foot of my bed blanket in hand. "Wake. Up."
"Fiiine..." I say rolling off the bed with a thud. "Be quite in there I'm trying to sleep!" Petunias faint voice yells from the room beside us.
"This is probably going to be the worst year of my life." I say standing up and crossing my arms over at Lily. "First of all you say that every year, just usually not this early, and second of all. Why do you think that THIS year?" She asks rolling her eyes in what I assume is a playful manner.
"Because James! It's been three years since we first met and you know how it is somehow every year they get better looking. All four of them!"
"But James just shines like the sun in the dead of a blank night?" Lily finishes for me, three years and I've had the same excuse every time. The thing is. I've been to Hogwarts for four years, but I've only met James my second year.
The main reason for that is because I'm in Ravenclaw, and for some reason they tend to avoid pranking us. That was until that one fateful day in second year.
I'm sitting at the dinner table with a group of my friends when BAM!
James and his posse had dropped two large buckets of some sort of goo over our heads. Luckily I somehow managed to avoid most of it but I did get some on my robe. So doing what any sensible human would do, I took off my robe and stormed up to James.
Standing in just my uniform skirt (and shirt) in the dead of the winter probably was the stupidest thing I've ever done, but having the Great Hall doors propped wide open in the dead of the winter was probably the stupidest thing Dumbledores done.
"Excuse me." I say firmly tapping James back with a glare on my face. "Yes love?" He asks turning around, pushing his already messy dark hair up and letting fall back into his face. I purse my lips to try not to laugh, I was supposed to be angry right now.
"What in Merlin's name was THAT?" I ask looking up quite a bit at James, even though I am older than him by a few months apparently. "That love, is a great prank. This however, is a bad reaction."
I open my mouth to say something. "Mr. Potter. Sirius, Mr. Lupin, and Mr. Pettigrew, detention, NOW!" McGonnigal cuts in. I smirk and walk back to my friends, flipping my blonde hair behind me.
"It'll be ok Leah, I swear. Plus you've also gotten waaay more attractive. Not like you weren't but still. You got a tan, you grew your hair it's healthy, you got abs! Your like stunning now! Again not like you weren't but you know."
"I know Lils it's fine." I say laughing as I go to get ready. Leaving her to try and wake up Marlene.
