2 ☆the frog☆

Haerin and Hanni continue their way to school when they are suddenly stopped by Leeteuk, the person who guards the school gates and ensures all students are dressed appropriately and aren't carrying anything harmful.

Leeteuk looks at the two frog plushies in Haerin's hands and raises an eyebrow. "Why did you bring these to school?" he asks, staring her down.
Haerin speaks up softly and explains that she was given the plushies as a gift on the way to school. Leeteuk sighs and lets the two pass, instructing Haerin to put the plushies in her locker at school.

As Haerin follows Hanni through the gates, she notices the taller girl and her friend from the store behind them. Hanni looks back and whistles quietly, smirking before hitting Haerin on the back. Haerin quickly turns around and shoots Hanni a look, clearly annoyed by her behavior. But Hanni only doubles down, grinning innocently and waving to the taller girl.

The taller girl looks at Hanni with surprise and confusion, but still waves back at her in response. She gives Hanni a sweet smile, which Hanni returns with a wide grin that makes Haerin roll her eyes.

As they make their way to their locker, Hanni whispers "she's pretty" to Haerin, who nods without really caring. Haerin isn't particularly concerned with the taller girl's appearance, and is more focused on getting to her locker so she can put away the frog plushies.

Hanni bumps into Haerin as she walks next to her and says, "Haerin, you should at least say hi to her. She did buy you those plushies."
Haerin, putting her things away in the locker, doesn't even bother turning to look at Hanni. Instead, she simply shrugs and says, "You don't need to concern yourself with my affairs, Hanni. It's really none of your business to begin with."
Hanni lets out a frustrated sigh and smacks Haerin on the back before walking away to go to class, leaving Haerin alone.

As Haerin finishes closing her locker, she turns around to walk to class and bumps into someone again. She looks up, ready to apologize again, but surprisingly finds herself face to face with the same taller girl from earlier.

"Oh, it's you again!" the taller girl says. Haerin sighs and apologizes again, saying "I'm sorry." The taller girl responds,"It's very fine, although I didn't expect to bump into you again."
Haerin, feeling a bit awkward, replies, "Me neither..."

"

I suppose we will keep running into each other like this, so what's your name?" Danielle smiles at Haerin, who looks down at the floor before glancing back up and sharing her name.
"My name is Haerin Kang," she says, causing Danielle to smile once more. "Oh, that's a pretty name," she says, making Haerin feel a tad awkward.
"My name is Marsh Danielle," Danielle responds, making Haerin tilt her head in curiosity. "Are you mixed? Your last name isn't Korean," she asks.

Before Haerin could say anything more, Danielle suddenly realizes she has to rush to class. She smiles at Haerin, wanting to pat her head but stopping herself at the last second.

"Oh no, I gotta go to class now," Danielle says, rushing by Haerin without another word. All around them, everyone else is rushing to class, which causes Haerin to not notice Danielle's light touch on her shoulder. As Haerin continues to the classroom, she can't help but wonder if she'll bump into Danielle again or if this is the last time they'll see each other.
