"Remind me why we're here again?" Kenny leans back in the chair, chewing on a piece of candy he'd gotten for free at a random shop."Because," Kyle sighs, dropping a news paper on the table and turning it so the blonde can read, "Like I said before, we have a case."
"No we don't." Kenny rolls his eyes, jabbing a finger at the headline, "Guy dies of a bear attack while hiking," He reads, "There's nothing special about that."
"Yes there is! They didn't find the bear or any trace of it! Only evidence being a body ripped to shreds! How is this not a case?" Kyle insists, angrily closing the paper and putting it back in his bag.
"You're just being paranoid. Take a break dude."
"I am not being paranoid! I think we should check it out! What if it is something we need to hunt? I'm not gonna-"
"Hello, may I take your order?"
Kyle has to bite his tongue to stop himself from yelling at the poor waiter. His little disagreement with Kenny is not an excuse to be rude.
Kenny immediately lights up, glancing at the menu and ordering some kind of burger. He's been complaining about being hungry all day.
"And you, Sir?"
Kyle finally acknowledges the waiter's presence, looking up at him with an unbothered expression. "I'm good. Thanks."
"... very well. Let me know if you need anything."
"Dude." Kenny whispers after the waiter's out of earshot.
"What."
"I know you're mad at me but don't take it out on the poor waiter! He's just doing his job." Kenny nudges Kyle's shoulder, a smile playing on his lips. Apparently that's amusing to him.
"I know." Kyle sighs, glancing over to see the black haired waiter disappear behind two doors in the back. "I still wanna check out the murder though," he changes the subject, "It wouldn't hurt."
"Fine, whatever. But I'm gonna say I told you so when they prove it's a bear."
"Mhm.." Kyle replies, only half listening now. He's gone back to staring at the door. He should probably apologise for being rude..
.
"I thought you wanted to apologise?" Kenny plops down into the car seat, eyebrow raised at the redhead next to him.
"I changed my mind." Kyle dismisses. He turns on the car and drives away from the restaurant.
"Why? Was he scary?" Kenny doesn't bother putting on his seatbelt. If a car crash were to happen he'd be fine no matter what.
"No! Shut up." Kyle lifts a hand off the steering wheel to smack Kenny on the back of his head.
Kenny just laughs loudly at that.
"And put on your seatbelt." Kyle glances at the blond after a while of silence.
"Why? I don't need it."
"Cops don't know that."
"We're cops!" Kenny pulls out a fake FBI badge from his pocket, shaking it in front of Kyle's face as if that'll make him see it better.
Kyle rolls his eyes, pushing the badge away from his face so he can focus on the road. "Fine, you win, whatever. What names are we using this time?"
