Season one, chapter one
"I deserved a better goodbye"
THE PAST IS immutable, unremembered, altered, or eliminated. It can solely be acknowledged, yet for Athena, it posed a tremendous challenge as she clung tightly to her childhood memories, refusing to release her mother's grasp. Despite this, she is akin to a delicate flower, possessing a strength that inflicts bullet-like blows when her petals wither, leaving no one unscathed.
She conceals her anguish with a cheerful expression, unwilling to recollect her past yet unwilling to release it. However, her fellow teammates were oblivious to this fact; in fact, they acknowledged their lack of knowledge about her because she frequently avoids discussing her traumatic history. Despite her soul being consumed by darkness, she had become adept at concealing it effectively.
However, despite her inability to overcome her traumatic experiences, she remains optimistic that she will regain happiness in the future.
Putting everything else aside, she discovered herself in a different predicament, sporting a ponytail and wearing an apron securely fastened around her slim waist. Thea found it tiring to navigate through a constantly crowded restaurant and attend to eager customers who appeared famished for noodles, often causing the brunette girl to feel frightened.
Thea used her brown jacket sleeve to wipe the sweat off her forehead, while holding a tray containing two bowls of noodles. Unlike when she first started assisting in the restaurant, she now has better control and does not drop the tray anymore.
"Many thanks, miss," A woman expressed her gratitude towards Thea for serving a petite dish of noodles before her. In acknowledgement, Thea reciprocated with a smile before pivoting around
"Miss, more kimchi, please" Thea frowned and turned around after a customer asked when Hana passed by, anticipating the response of the black-haired girl
"Kimchi? Get it yourself" Hana responded, continuing on her path, leaving the man perplexed with a frowning expression. Thea smacked her face in frustration, then quickly approached the man's table
"I apologize for her, I will promptly bring the kimchi," she quickly expressed, lowering her head in a respectful bow
As she quickly looked away, her smile vanished, and she silently blamed Hana for burdening her with the majority of the responsibilities. Thea, known for her exceptional patience within the group, rarely reaches her limit. However, when she does, even the most courageous individual would feel utterly defeated.
As she pulled back the curtain covering the small kitchen window, she let out a sigh. Ms. Chu gazed at her eagerly while Mo-tak remained absorbed in his own affairs, seemingly unaware of her presence or preoccupied with his current task.
