Please Let Go

Chapter 1

"MOTHER, YOU HAVE TO LET ME GO!!" Hoshi sat on her knees, a desperate look on her face. Lotte glared down at her, looking disgusted. "You are a noble lady! You do not go running around with commoners, such as those lowly kids and that brat you keep doting on!"Lotte snapped. Hoshi shot up, grabbing her mothers arm. "HE'S WAITING FOR ME! PLEASE MOTHER!"Hoshi cried. Everything was an act, so hide her suffering at the hands of her mother. All the happy smiles, the compliments, the agreement that her mother was the best mother. It was all a facade to please her mother and people. She learned herself early on how she wanted to be. She was indeed a dreamer, she was humble, kind and compassionate. All the things her mother was not. "Please mother"Hoshi begged. It was like a game with her mother, a game to control her life, something she fought the best she could.

"No!"Lotte spat. Hoshi flinched, her mothers hand flying up. "DON'T YOU HIT MY CHILD, YOU EVIL WITCH!!" Hoshi looked up, finding her father shielding her. Bryce, her father, was one of the few who cherished and love, along side her elder brothers and sister. "Sister!" Charles ran over with Kit behind him, Bella following looking fearful. "Let me see your face, did mother hit you!"Kit yells grabbing her shoulders. She looked up, tears falling down her face as Kit checked her face. "I-I'm fine...I wanna head to my room"Hoshi mutters. The youngest daughter, that's how most saw her. Someone who could be easily given away for marriage at any given time, which is no doubt the plan her mother had in mind. From the moment she was born, all her mother saw her as was a piece for power. Someone who could replace Bella in marriage affairs, and die in her elder sisters place.

She hurried out, the sound of her mother arguing with her father and brothers raging like a tsunami storm behind her. Marigold flinched, her eyes widening when Hoshi fell to her knees. "HOSHI!"Marigold cried running over. Marigold fell to her knees, hugging Hoshi tight. Marigold, her most trusted maid and friend. the one person willing to risk everything for her. "Mother said I can't go see him...he's gonna be so heart broken!"Hoshi mutters trembling. Marigold scowled, an angry look on her face. "Hoshi, come on!"Marigold says forcing her to her feet. Hoshi stared in alarm, watching Marigold grab a new dress and a cloak, pushing her away to get dressed. "I'm gonna help you sneak out!"Marigold smiled huffing, her hands on her hips. Hoshi stepped out, surprised with how much this dress made her look like a commoner. Marigold grinned at her, looking proud of herself. "Let's go help you see Edel Lindberg, Lady Hoshi!"Marigold beamed.

Hoshi stepped out of the carriage, looking around quickly, lowering her cloak. Running feet made her perk up, her eyes widening when white hair came into view, hugging her tight. "I thought you weren't coming!" She smiled, hugging Edel tight. "Where were you?! I thought you weren't coming!"Edel demands throwing a tantrum. She laughed and pulled cookies out of her basket, handing them to the boy. The first time she met Edel it was six weeks ago, she found him angrily throwing rocks into a lake and approached him only to get a fist to her nose. He apologizes for giving her a bloody nose but then shouted at her for startling him, claiming it was partially her fault, which she had agreed on since she did sneak up on him instead of just calling out to the boy. He didn't trust her, even questioning her kindness but came around to it after a while, even eagerly awaiting her visits in which she'd bring him baked goods from her home.

"Edel..."Hoshi says suddenly noticing the bruise on his cheek. Edel looked at her curiously, Hoshi grabbing his arms. "What happened to your face?!"Hoshi demands stunned. "Oh...some boys, it's no big deal I beat them all up"Edel says. "And he should be punished for it!" Hoshi looked up, two fathers scowling at Edel, four grinning boys lurking like wolves behind them. "YOU'LL HAVE TO KILL ME FIRST!!"Hoshi yells hugging Edel close. Edel's eyes widened in shock, looking up at her as her grip on him tightened. "Edel, run now!"Hoshi orders pushing him away. Edel stumbled back, looking startled. "But...our picnic.."Edel stared. "We'll have it tomorrow, I promise"Hoshi smiled looking at him. "NOW RUN!" Edel turned and ran away, gripping the little bag of cookies tight. Hoshi glared at the two men, trembling visibly, knowing she wouldn't be able to handle them on her own. "You both wouldn't hurt a defenseless lady would you?"

Her eyes widened, hands being placed on her shoulders. She looked up, Regef standing there, a smile on his face, causing the men to back away startled. "Hoshi correct? You can go"Regef smiled. She stepped away from him, feeling uneasy then bolted causing Regef to scowl. He had hoped she'd thank him and take her time leaving, not bolt away the first chance she got when he allowed her to leave. Hoshi was like a jewel, one he plucked out himself to make his. He thought him showing her his more kinder side would make her love him, but his thoughts turned out to be false. Showing a woman your more vulnerable side whenever you're injured or she's in trouble was a great way to tie them to you and make them yours forever. At first glance, he thought Hoshi was gullible like all the other woman around him, but she seemed wary and cautious of him. "Let's check out her home"Regef grinned.

A scream erupted, Hoshi falling to her knees, tears falling down her cheeks. Marigold laid dead on the ground, a slash across her chest from a sword. "This lowly maid helped you escape even after I warned her!"Lotte spat. Bryce stared in complete shock, Charles gritting his teeth furiously. "YOU BITCH!!"Charles bellowed Kit holding him back. Hoshi sobbed, hugging Marigold close, tears falling down her cheeks, blood staining her dress. "Looks like I was right to follow her." Lotte gasped, her eyes widening as she looked at Regef. Hoshi trembled, Regef looking at the maids body in her arms. He marched over, and grabbed Hoshi, hauling the shocked girl to her feet. "She's coming with me"Regef says. "YOU-"Kit starts. Regef stared Kit down, silencing the male instantly. "I can't leave.."Hoshi says. Regef snapped his fingers together, a brown haired male setting down a chest and opening it, revealing the item filled with gold and jewels.

"How dare-"Bryce starts. "TAKE HER!!"Lotte beamed silencing her husband. Hoshi stared at her mother in shock, Regef smiling. "You witch..."Belle says stunned. Her mother just sold her to the prince without even a second though. Did she really hate her that much, enough to give her own child away without thinking about it. Regef pulled her after him, snapping her out of her thoughts. He lifted her up onto a white horse, smiling at her. "You're gonna live a lavish life, Lady Hoshi"Regef smiled. He climbed up onto the horse behind her, riding away. "Sister!"Charles yelled. Darnell stared in shock when the two rode past, dropping his bag of apples he was bringing her. "Darnell! MY mother sold Hoshi to that tyrant!"Charles yells grabbing his best friends hands, looking terrified. "She what"Darnell stared. "There's no doubt he'll abuse her and break her, we gotta help her"Charles mutters. "Hoshi may be humble, kind and compassionate but she's also fragile."
