The cool breeze of September blew in my hair as I was walking down the street where I lived. I was thinking about what had happened in school today. Why would a person as amazing as him help me? A loner, with barely any friends? Even the teachers don't think highly of me. While he was the entire opposite of me, he was kind, smart, good-looking and teachers adore him. I tried not to overthink it but I just couldn't help it.
I arrived at a small café. The café was ran by my aunt. That certain place down by the street had been my home for the past ten years ever since that night in September. I put my bag down on a stool near the entrance as I took an apron that was hanging on a hook and put it on.
There were already customers coming in the café so of course I immediately took their orders at the counter. The door flung open again but I didn't quite look at who it was since I was busy entertaining customers who were paying at the cashier. After the customers finished paying and left, my heart skipped a beat after I heard who was the person in front of me.
"Excuse me, I saw the poster in front of the café, and I was wondering if you are still hiring?"
I looked up from the cashier. It was him.
