I always wanted to go bungee jumping - but with the bungee cord

As we flew the lights of Quebec city faded behind us.

"You were amazing." Jason said.

Piper started fiddling with her dagger, then said something in French.

"What'd you say?" he asked.

"I said I only talked to Boreas; it wasn't so amazing." She said.

I frowned, I didn't know much French, but from what I learnt in primary school that wasn't what she said. I ignored it and kept chipping away at the ice encasing my arm. I didn't want to interrupt their conversation.

"Hey," Jason said. "You saved me from joining Khione's subzero hero collection. I owe you one."

Piper fell silent. Leo passed around some sandwiches from his backpack. He'd been quiet since he was told how Khione acted in the throne room. "I still can't believe Khione," he said, I snorted. "She looked so nice."

I raised an eyebrow. "Yeah. Looked nice. That's why you get to know people."

Jason nodded. "Trust me, man," he said. "Snow may be pretty, but up close it's cold and nasty. We'll find you a better prom date."

"Huh. That was a nice way of putting it. High five worthy." I said, giving him a high five. Piper snorted. Leo still didn't look pleased.

We ate our sandwiches as we flew. Nobody talked. We all knew that Boreas had only let us go because he thought it was a suicide mission.

Eventually Piper leaned back against Jason and fell asleep. Jason was blushing. Looking at the situation, I should've got a medal for holding in the urge to laugh.

We flew in silence, sometimes Jason or Leo would chat, but I never spoke. I drifted off thinking about Coach Hedge. He had saved me all those years ago, when my mother died. He had brought me to camp and been my only friend until I met Annabeth. He basically acted as my parental figure and since I didn't have a cabin, he was the one who took me to the Demeter cabin, he introduced me to Katie. But then he had to leave to the Wilderness school, and the second I have a chance to see him again he gets taken by storm spirits.

He saved me. But now, when he was in danger, I couldn't save him.

I was jolted awake to hear Piper screaming. I looked around, and then looked down. I was not on the dragon; in fact, no one was.

We were falling.

Falling down to a city below. I saw Piper tumble past me, screaming. I extended out my arms and legs, Thalia, despite her (and my) fear of heights, had decided to teach me what to do when falling.

I began to slow down, but I was still going to die from this height, all I was doing was delaying the inevitable.

Leo shot past me, grabbing furiously at clouds. "Not cooooool!" He screamed.

Below me I could hear Jason yelling at Piper to level out. When she began to slow Jason crashed into her, and hugged her? Then they began to fall slower.

As I shot past them, falling spread-eagled, I yelled. "Since when could you fly?!"

Thump!

I felt them slam into me, Piper grabbed my arm. "Oh hey, guys. Fancy seeing you here." I said.

"No time for jokes!" Piper screamed.

"There is always time for jokes!" I yelled. We crashed into Leo. Who was wriggling frantically and cursing.

"Stop fighting!" Jason said. "It's me!"

"My dragon!" Leo yelled. "You gotta save Festus!"

Before I could try to reason with Leo, I heard an explosion below. A fireball rolled into the sky from behind a warehouse complex, and Leo sobbed, "Festus!"

Jason's face was going red from strain as he tried to maintain an air cushion beneath us, but intermittent slowdowns was all he could manage. Instead of free-falling, it was like we were falling down a giant staircase, which was not doing my stomach any favours.

As we wobbled and zigzagged, I could make out the warehouses below, surrounded by barbed wire fences and car parks, full of snow-covered vehicles.

Then Jason groaned, "I can't – "

And then we dropped like stones.

We hit the roof of the largest warehouse and crashed through into darkness. Then I felt my foot catch on something, and I screamed as it was wrenched out of its socket.

Hi, so that was more of a cliff-hanger than usual, I think. I did in fact write this while watching Tubbo livestream. Probably why it's so short, I couldn't concentrate.

I think I'm improving at my writing, I really hope so. It may, however, just seem better to me because it's got to a more interesting part of the story.

The chapter name is probably going to be changed, as soon as I think of a better name. I really should've just called them numbers, but I can't go back now. Well I can... Nvr mind.

Also I would just like to say, if you liked this then I would recommend kingfisher4130 and bricksnbones. They both write incredible stories.

Writing my first fanfiction has made my respect for fanfic writers go through the roof, this is much more difficult then I anticipated.

That's it from me. I hope you are having a good day, and if not then I hope reading this made you feel better, even just a tad.

Bye from Corgi

P.S. I probably don't need to do this anymore. This is just a reminder that all characters (apart from Anwen) belong to Rick Riordan, this is just a fanfiction based off the Heroes of Olympus series.
