"Hey I need you to go pick up your little sister, I have work tonight."I heard my mom say coming into my room.
I nodded while turning a page in my book. After I heard her walk out my room, I watered my plants and got ready to go get my little sister. I got my car keys and walked downstairs.
"I'm starting to think that Silas needs to move out."I overheard my mom on the phone. It's crazy that she wants me to leave after all the years she's been trying to keep me from living with my dad and now she wants me to leave?
"Yes, he's always in his room reading and watering his plants. I'm tired of seeing plants everywhere."I heard her say again. Honestly I ain't mad about the plants foreal, because I know I have alot of plants.
I walk past her and walk out the door walking to my car. I get inside my car and play 𝘌𝘹 𝘍𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳 by Lauryn Hill. Some people sleep on her I don't know why though.
I pull up to my little sister's school and saw her outside talking to a boy. He looked..okay but I have to remember not everybody have money to afford fancy clothes.
"Aye Elliot we have to go."I semi yelled from the car.
I saw her say her goodbyes and made her way to the car.
"Hey Silas!"She said while smiling."Someone's happy. What for?"
"I was able to do the protect the planet movement and project I've been talking about!"she said smiling very hard.
"Oh my goodness E! I'm proud of you."I said hugging her..
"This counts for an ice cream treat."I said driving off. I looked over to see her smiling.
I'm so happy for my little sister and honestly people would say me and my sister are alike. I'm sixteen and my sister is 14 and honestly we think alike too.As I pull up to dairy queen and I get out the car to open up her side of the door. As she gets out she closes the door behind her and we walk to the dairy queen door.
I walk up to the register while my sister sits there looking at the ice cream cakes.
"Hey uh, we're here to celebrate and my sister's favorite thing to get from here is an ice cream cake. But I wanna surprise her. "I said whispering slightly.
I saw the man nod and he went to the back. He came back and showed me this cute ice cream cake. I look back again and see her walkin outside while she's on the phone.
I nod and take out my wallet.
"Oh My Goodness did you see his shoes?"I heard a voice coming from the door. I look back and saw three girls talking. Well only two I guess.
One of the girls looked uncomfortable and tired. I wouldn't say too much because I don't know her personally or at all.
"I mean y'all really shouldn't be talking about someone knowing they not here to defend themselves, plus it's hard out here for people who don't have enough money. And y'all just making fun of ole' dude knowing that his family is struggling."I heard the third girl speak up.
I took a quick glance and saw how beautiful she was. She had long black curly hair, with a black top that looked like a bra and a long black skirt with waist beads. She looked real pretty."Oh tighten up Lauryn, you know he was ugly."One of the girls said.
"Nah I think Lauryn's right on this one, look I'm sorry for overhearing even though y'all was talking hella loud. You shouldn't judge someone before you even get to meet them. It's crazy how you look at things when they look less fortunate. If you know they're family is struggling then don't talk about it because you would hate to have it happen to you." I said grabbing the bag and walking out the building.
I walked to my car and got in and drove home.
Maybe I shouldn't have said anything..
