Midoriya POV

The girls were bickering with eachother while trying to figure out how to fix one of the holes in the wall, but I was more worried about what Gran Torino had told me after we sparred.

"The respect you have for All Might, that sense of responsibility- they're shackles holding you back."

He was probably true, that was probably why my moves were so stiff.
What did he even mean by 'my moves and reflexes were so stiff,'
well smooth would be the opposite of stiff I suppose. And then it hit me, I ran to my backpack and frantically searched around for my notebook.

I started writing down and mumbling how I shouldn't treat my quirk as an extension or something that I should turn on and off, but more like one for all is apart of myself, like my arm or my leg.

"Deku!" I spun around at the sound of Layla's voice calling my name, well my nickname but whatever. "Can you please take that microwave out of here, it's crushed and we can't use it anymore." I nodded and took the broken microwave out to one of the bins outside.

I finally figured out what I was supposed to do with my quirk! And I was going to make sure I trained and trained, until I had control over my quirk.

3rd POV

The teens managed to clean up the place before Gran Torino had gotten back and Midoriya was still thrilled with what Violet had said, and the fact he had figured out what he needed to to with his quirk.

They all rested for that night, and the next morning Midoriya went and trained in an alleyway, while also scaring away a couple walking by from his muttering.

Anyway!

When he got back, they trained. They meaning Gran Torino, Midoriya and Layla.

They were talking turns seeing who could land a hit on Gran Torino, just as Gran Torino had sent Midoriya in the air with one of his kicks, Violet had woken up and was now walking into the area the were fighting in.

"VIOLET WATCH OUT!" Layla yelled and just as Violet looked up, she screamed and put her hands up infront of her face expecting to be as flat as a pancake.

But when she felt nothing, she looked up to see a giant, golden cloud. "Are you okay Midoriya?" She yelled and ran around the other side of the cloud, to see Midoriya dead asleep on the cloud.

She gently put the cloud on the ground and looked back to the other two.
"That wasn't meant to happen, I swear." Gran Torino chuckled and gestured her to go beside Layla.
He got them to sit down and he sighed,
"You two girls are very different from Midoriya or Toshinori. Firstly, you're girls, and your quirks are almost polar opposites, yet you manage to use them together extremely well." The girls fist bumped but Gran Torino stop them both before they could celebrate.

"But you're both very unskilled and have no proper control over your quirks." They both pouted but Gran Torino continued, "But that doesn't mean that you can't improve and learn how to use your quirks." They both looked up at the older man to see him with a confident smile on his face.

And then he put two books down infront of them, one for Layla and one for Violet. They each looked down to the books, Layla's read 'The techniques behind dark quirks' and Violet's read 'the secrets to light quirks'.

Both looked to eachother than Gran Torino with dumbfounded expressions, "Man, I can't even read." Layla stated and dropped the book down onto the ground. Two inches off the ground might I add.

Gran Torino shook his head and a smile made its way onto his face, "Just look through it. Something you both could do is search through the book for things that you have had happen with you quirk."

After seeing the girls co fused faces, he sighed and explained in a slightly simpler form.

"So for instance, Violet, you can make animals and objects out of light. Yes?" She nodded and Gran Torino continued, "So maybe you could try and find that in the book." They each made 'o' faces and started nodding.

"Oh, I get it! So anyway that we've used our quirks, we should try and find in these books?" Violet asked with wide eyes, the old man nodded in relief and Violet held her hands in the air in triumph.

"Now go and start reading. Or practice your hand to hand combat. Either, either it's fine."
Gran Torino waved them off as he went over to Midoriya to wake him up for more training.

Violet looked to Layla to see what she wanted to do, just to see her looking right back at her. They stared at eachother for a minute before bursting out into laughter.

Layla stood up and held her hands out for Violet to grab onto, which she gladly took and once they were both standing up, Layla smirked.

"Why don't you make some pads for me to put on my hands and we work on your combat skill, little miss Disney princess." They both chuckled and Violet made some hand pads for Layla.

Once Layla had put them on she stood in a protective stance and looked at Violet, "Opposite hand to the opposite pad. Got that?" She asked, Violet nodded and held her fists up.

"Always hold a hand infront of your face and don't forget to have one leg forward and one leg back so you're stable. Let's go and see how you go."

And so they started their 'training' you could say. Layla would hold out a pad and say which hand she was holding out and Violet would punch it with the other hand.

This continued for a while and Layla also added some other moves, including kicking and hitting the pads with her knees. All while directing Violet when she got something wrong. And after a long while, Violet finally waved her little white flags.

She held her thumbs up to Layla and slumped down on the couch. Layla laughed and sat beside her, "Next time, you have to have the pads. Got that?" Violet chuckled and nodded.

"Mhm, in minute. Just let me rest for a sec." And with that Violet was resting her head in her arms.

Layla smiled and got up to antagonize Deku. She ran around trying to find him, but couldn't for some reason, until she came across a room with the door slightly open.

"Deku?" She mumbled and took a peek into the room and immediately had to tell her to shut her jaw. He was standing the room, no shirt and only a pair of tracksuits on.

After standing there for a minute, she remembered who it was and slightly pulled the door shut and ran away, gagging here and there.

Meanwhile, poor Midoriya was thinking the wind from his open window shut it a little. But he still couldn't help but go red from thinking someone saw him.

"Jesus Christ. Violet! I need you to see something before it's too late!"
