One year before the main events, Kaede's story...

Kaen gave me a home away from home, somewhere I could be myself, and let all my worries go. Where we could live our super human lives. I joined their group of vigilantes, who restored balance to the city. Kaen gave me a power, as my alter self known as Kitsune, I have the power of flames, illusions, and swords.

And now, I have everything I ever needed. I've never felt better in my life, if only this could have come sooner.

I have nothing left to worry about. I would spend every day with Kaen. We were inseparable. He's my best friend now, I'm no longer alone. We would go to school in the day, then go out into the city at night.

We would fight back against gangs, criminal's, mafia's, corrupt politicians, and the black market.

Dealing with things on the dark web was sketchy, when people start doing illegal business is where it gets dangerous. Illegal, trade, assassinations, hit men, and trafficking.

Very powerful people will hunt you down once you get in their way, that's why, you must always hide your identity.

The police are always after us too, they don't agree with our methods of justice, they just don't understand we're doing this for the people...

One evening, after school, I was sitting up on skyscrapper scafolding, in an unfinished abandoned building. I was looking down at the city below for any action.

I was lying on a beam, arms behind my head, feeling the setting sun on my face. I close my eyes and start humming a cheery tune. I feel my fiery tail flick around that I'm happy.

Then I hear someone quietly land on a beam behind me.

My ear turns, I peak open one of my eyes. I pretend like I dont hear them and keep humming.

"Ragh!" They shout as they grab my face from behind the metal beam.

I laugh. "Don't grab my face." I say trying to keep a stoic look as I smack his hands away.

"Man, how did I not scare you that time!?" He complains.

He shoots a web and swings and Kaen lands in front of me.

"How many times do I have to remind you, you can't sneak up on me. It's impossible, no matter how quiet you try to be, I can hear everything with my giant ears." I smirk and cross my arms over my chest.

"But That's not fair, how can you hear through those things, they're made of like, literal glowing fire." Kaen sighs.

"Hmm, I dunno, magic." I wave my hands.

Kaen huffs then leans his back on the beam. I smile at him. Then we both stare out at the city for a moment.

"It's pretty calm out here tonight." Kaen says.

"Yeah, there probably wont be any hits tonight. Eheh, everyone's afraid of us now, they wont do anything or we'll show up and take those sorry suckers out." I chuckle.

"Yeah... That's a good thing, but, I'm afraid if we get too big, we'll start to draw too much attention. We're going to start creating enemies, they don't like us stirrin up their trade deals..." Kaen looks at me.

"That is true... I guess, that's the price to pay, to be the one wearing the mask." I smile at him.

Kaen smiles back. "Yeah, it's a giant pain in the butt somtimes though."

I sit up and cross my legs. "Heheh, yeah, it's stressful somtimes, but it pays off to help everyone from this evil."

Kaen sits down. He looks back out at the city.
