"I'm Getting a little spooked out Amber, why don't we just turn around and go home."
"No way Cassie, we bet those girls 50 dollars that we can stand in these woods for half an hour, and I intend on winning that money."
"Yeah but... What if there really IS a Witch out here, I mean..."
Amber cut her off. "No Cassie, there is no such thing as a Witch, how gullible are you?"
Cassie Sighed "Alright, but after this I get to pick the movie we watch tonight."
The two girls kept walking deeper into the woods, the sound of twigs snapping under their feet echoing through the quiet trees. As they continued, the air grew colder and a thick fog began to settle around them, making it hard to see more than a few feet ahead. Cassie shivered and pulled her jacket tighter around her, regretting not bringing a warmer one. Amber, on the other hand, seemed unfazed by the sudden change in temperature and continued to lead the way with confidence. Just as Cassie was about to speak up again, they heard a strange cackling noise coming from up ahead, causing both girls to freeze in their tracks.
"What the hell was that?" Cassie winced out fearfully.
"Uh, probably like, a raccoon, or something."
When the girls looked back towards the path, they saw the fog had grown all around them in an instant, they couldn't see anything in front of them or even the moonlight above.
"That's It I'm bailing!" Cassie cried out as she sprinted back, disappearing into the fog.
"Cassie Wait!" Amber screamed out.
Cassie kept running as fast as she could through the fog, she was completely lost and had no idea which direction she was going in.
"Help, somebody help!" Cassie shrieked as she ran, when suddenly, a root of some kind jolted out from the ground, knocking her out as she tripped and smacked the ground.
As Cassie lay unconscious on the ground a menacing figure approached, already carrying Ambers unconscious body over her shoulder, she effortlessly picked up Cassie and sulked away into the deepest depths of the woods cackling along the way.
Hours later, Cassie slowly regained consciousness, her head throbbing with pain. As she tried to sit up, she realized she was unable to move, she was in a dark room made of old wood and dirt lit by torches on the wall. She looked to her side and saw Amber out of the corner of her eye slumped over on the ground looking equally frightened.
She tried to call out to her friend, but when she opened her mouth, no words came out.
That's when Cassie heard footsteps, paralyzed with fear Cassie was defenseless as the steps drew closer and closer until suddenly the door flung open and in walked none other than the Witch.
The Witch smiled as she looked at her prey, then snapped her fingers causing the two girls to levitate up off the ground and back down on their knees looking up at the Witch.
The Witch looked almost exactly like the Witch stereotype everyone is familiar with, she had dark green skin and wore a short black dress with a pointy witch hat along with a pair of black boots, however she wasn't old and decrepit looking. In fact, she had the face and figure of a young woman and even had on black lipstick.
The two girls whimpered with fear as the Witch leaned down to look at her prey and showed a flirtatious grin. Cassie's heart was pounding as the Witch cackled and stroked her cheek with her green finger. She could feel the Witch's power pulsating through her body, leaving her weak and powerless. Amber whimpered beside her; her eyes filled with terror as she stared up at the Witch. Cassie knew that they were in serious trouble and that there was no way out. The Witch triumphantly spoke out "I've been waiting for two foolish mortals like you to come along. You see, I need new victims to torment, and you two will do just fine."
