The officer lets me bail Ethan out, And I get to take him home. We stay silent. Ethan keeps his head down. As if he feels bad. I call us an Uber to take us to his place. I don't want to spend our first night together giving each other the silent treatment.
When we finally arrive at his place, I decide to break the silence.
"Babe, what happened?" I ask.
"He punched first, I swear. I've changed, I don't hit first anymore." He explains.
"I guess it was self defense. But you ended up in jail. And now with no car." I say. He looked very upset about his actions. I pulled his chin up.
"Hey, it's ok. It's not your fault." I say, as I plant a kiss on his lips, which he quickly reciprocates, wrapping his arms around my waist, pulling my body flush against his.
