I could not believe my eyes. She had several cuts, a cast on her leg, and a wrap on her wrist. She looked like she wanted to cry but couldn't. I couldn't get Kaitlyn out of my head as I flew. It made me mad.

I landed at the pond. I morphed into my human form. I reached into my jean pocket and pulled out a small bag. I pulled on the gold strings, and it opened. The shiny orange powder was sitting in the bag, glittering in all its glory.

I took a small amount of the beautiful material. "!" I yelled in Latvian, a Latin-based language. I threw the powder into the water, and a grassy passageway opened. I closed the bag and put it back in my pocket, then I walked as fast as I could through the passage.

I heard the Pop! of the passage closing as the water around me soon faded into white fields. There were no clouds in the coral sky and the lilac sun shone brightly. A breeze hit me as I fully entered my homeland. I could see figures in the sky, and I saw a mama Squike and a drait of babies. A Squike is a squirrel but with only two front legs, and a snake tail in the back. A drait is what you call a group of baby Squikes.

Many of the animals here were merges of two, sometimes three, animals from Earth. I live in a place called, Zvēru zeme, or in English, the Land of the Beasts. I looked around for a moment, looking for Kit. Soon I saw a rustle in the grass and then a figure jumped on me.

Kit, my Feaxle, was a fox with eagle wings. This particular Feaxle was multi-colored. She has red ears and forehead, lavender nose and cheeks, purple torso, indigo back and stomach, yellow paws, and white at the end of her tail.

"Hey, Kit." I said with a smile.

She squealed as I petted her. "C'mon, I need to tell Mr. Yarrowood, what happened to Kaitlyn."

She jumped onto my shoulder and wrapped around my neck. When she was secure, I took off on a run.

The trees of the woods that soon took over my view were a shiny ice blue. Winter here was beautiful.

Everything changed. The trees, the grass, the sky, the sun, even the stars.

I soon reached three cottages in a circle. All are made of stone with some decorations to tell them apart.

My cottage was at the back of the circle and was decorated with wind chimes and bird feeders that I got on Earth.

Mr. Yarrowood's was decorated with statues of the different animals on Zvēru zeme.

Katanas was decorated with different, fake weapons, and some plants.

Katana was a friend of mine that I've known since I was five. And I know for a fact that she likes me. I'm pretty sure she doesn't know, I know, but it's pretty obvious.

Well, it was after Mr. Yarrowood accidently told me one day.

But I don't like her like that. I have feelings for someone else. I'm just too scared to tell Katana. She seems very tough but can be fragile with some subjects.

Like her parents, for example.

But I can't judge, I'm sensitive on that topic too.

I quickly walked to Mr. Yarrowood's cabin, knocking furiously upon my arrival.

"Yes...yes. Hello, Brax. Oh! What's wrong?" Mr. Yarrowood's face went into a puzzled expression. "Something happened with Kaitlyn."

Mr. Yarrowood's one eye widened a little. He was missing an eye, I don't know the details, but apparently, when he was younger, a battle took his left eye out.

"Come in, come in." He widened the door for me, and I walked in. The room was cozy and dimly lit. A fire crackled in the fireplace, and a tea kettle sat on the fire.
