Getting Somewhere

It's been 5 months and Tom, Morgan, Bill, and I have been staying in my condo until Morgan and I gather up enough money to buy a house on the market for all of us to live in. Morgan and I decided to work at the new Ylie's Club since they were hiring. We've been making good money. Morgan's a waitress and I'm the bartender. Tom had a job but got fired for sleeping on the job. I don't know what Bill has been doing but he says he is searching for jobs but something tells me he isn't. I'm in my bathroom getting ready when Bill walks in and hugs me from behind. He has been talking a lot and even went on some dates.

"Is everything okay Bill?" I ask as I turn around and hug him. He gave me a little squeeze and I knew he wasn't okay. I look up at him and he let his nose touch mine.

"I just found something out and now I'm a little mad is all," Bill says softly. I kiss his cheek since he has chickened out 2 times on kissing me. I am always so tempted to when we are this close. That's when I finally got the courage and kissed him. I could tell he was shocked because he didn't kiss me back for a good minute. I pull away but he pulled me in for one more.

"What was that for, Kim? You caught me-"

"Off guard? Well, the past 2 times you chickened out so I took matters into my own hands." I say, cutting him off. He smiled from ear to ear and fixed my lipstick. I found out quickly that it was hard to kiss a 6'4 man. He was a whole foot taller than me and my legs ran shorter than most 5'4 girlies.

"Can I do your lipstick, love?" Bill asked as he put me on the bathroom counter. I handed him my lipstick and he gently swiped the applicator on my lips. Once he finished he gave me one more kiss and I giggled.

"I'll let you finish getting ready," Bill said as he kissed my head and walked off. I wonder what he found out. That's when a sinking feeling started forming in my stomach. Morgan and I had a pretty shitty job a few years ago where we dropped out of college to work at a strip club to get money to move to San Diego. I knew I wasn't as open as Morgan was about it. I was now praying hoping that wasn't what he found out. I'm sure he would understand, Bill is a very understanding person. I finish doing my makeup and start putting on my uniform. I grab my wallet and put on my heels while I walk to the living room.

"New uniform? Or did you finally wash your other one?" Tom asked me teasingly. I glare at him and fake smile. He laughed a little and Bill tied my apron.

"No, I think Morgan mentioned something about new uniforms already," Bill said to Tom as he gave me a quick hug.

"Morgan! Are you ready to leave?! We can't be late again!" I yell to her.

"I'm coming sorry!" Morgan said, hobbling out of the bedroom trying to put on her shoes. I start tying her shoes and said our goodbyes. We worked short shifts today so, we would be home before dinner. Before I was out the door, Tom pulled me aside.

"Tom, what are you doing? I am going to be late!"

"I know but I'm planning on taking out Morgan tonight. To the beach! How do you make her favorite food?"

"It's in my recipe book now let me go!"

"Okay thank you, have a good time at work!" Tom waved as he let me go. Sometimes I see Tom as a big brother that I never really had. I smiled and waved as I ran to the car.

"What took you so long? I almost left without you!" Morgan said annoyed. I am always the person to bug her about being late.

"I forgot my wallet and phone. Sorry." I say as a quick excuse. Then I start the car and zoom out of the parking lot.

We finally get to the place and we both clock in. I open my bar and start taking drink requests. Morgan started running around taking orders. Then, that moment I had with Bill popped into my head. He only ever gave me a gentle squeeze when he was upset about something. That sinking feeling started coming back and then Morgan started snapping at me.

"I need 2 paradise margaritas! Is everything okay? You keep spacing out."

"Sorry, and nothing. Just something Bill told me earlier." I said as I started making the drinks. That's when Morgan asked to go on break and dragged me with her.

"What did Bill tell you?" She asked with a serious face.

"He said he found out something that made him upset," I said to Morgan. That's when I saw the color of her cheeks slowly go pale.

"Do you think?" She said, wide-eyed.

"I don't know. But, I don't think he'd make a big deal out of it. I'm sure if we explain why we worked there he would understand." I say, trying to stay optimistic.

Morgan sighs and walks back out to the lobby. I follow behind her and start taking drink orders. Bill doesn't seem like the type to hold grudges but, I don't know. What if he did find out and he now hates us? Will this be the end of something that never really started? I snap out of it and continue my job duties.

Finally, the time to go home has arrived. I clock out with Morgan and we walk to the car, laughing about the people we served. We both hop in the car and drive home in the beautiful sunset. Morgan is going to love the date plan Tom had made for her.

We finally make it back home and before we went back in I pulled Morgan aside.

"Go in and change into something cute, I think someone is waiting for you by the beach." I wink at her. I see her eyes light up and she ran inside. I walk in and sit next to Bill. He wrapped his arm around me and kissed me on the head.

"How was work, Kim?" He asks so gently.

"It was okay, had a bunch of weirdos at the bar which got a good laugh out of me and Morgan," I reply laying down, resting my head on his lap. Then, we watch Morgan run through the living room to the stairs to the beach. We both giggle and I just rest on Bill. Something about him brought me comfort.

"You look exhausted, Kim. How about we go lay down together? I'm tired myself trying to save the kitchen from burning down thanks to Tom." Bill says as he strokes my head.

"Yeah, I could go for a nap," I say as I yawn. Bill picked me up and we both laid down for a nap.

Morgan's POV

I didn't think I could run as fast as I did when I realized that Tom set up a date for us by the beach! As I rushed down the steps to the sand below, I saw Tom waiting for me on a blanket with my favorite food, pasta! Tom saw me running towards him and he stood up with arms wide open. I run into his embrace as he twirled me around.

"What's this all for Tom?!" I say excitedly.

"I decided to take you out on a beach date since you've been working so hard to earn money!" Tom tells me as we sit down, enjoying the food.

We finished our delicious food and watched the sunset together. Tom held me close to him and I could feel his heart racing for some reason. He then turned me around to face him. He grabbed my hands and looked into my eyes.

"Morgan, for the past 5 months, I've been falling in love with you. Your beauty, your talent, and your personality has made me realize how amazing of a person you are. Will you be my girlfriend, Morgan?" He said as he stared into my eyes. Was I dreaming? I could feel myself start tearing up.

"Yes! Yes, yes, yes!" I blurt out has I go in to kiss him. He grabs my face and we kiss on the beach, during the most prettiest sunset in San Diego.
