my safe place is slowly becoming you.

Her dainty handwriting and small hearts added after each sentence sends me into a damn near coma.

I so carefully take her note off the fridge and place it in my clear phone case. "My heart holds you when my arms cannot." I whisper, wishing she never left for school.

Seeing her here, in my bed, cuddled up in my arms felt so normal. I want it to be normal. I want her to be my normal.

My phone dings in my back pocket and I immediately pull it out, hoping it's August.

Nate Palmer : We all need to grow some balls and talk about whatever the fuck just happened last night. Everyone at my place in twenty.

Renna : I agree. Tanner, I'll pick you up on the way.

Me : The hell I will. If Statler's going, I'm not.

Tanner Boy : Stat's in the hospital big guy, he couldn't even come if he wanted to.

Me : Be there in ten.

Nate Palmer : Damn right.

I've been sitting in Nate's driveway for the past fifteen minutes. I psychically can't get off my bike.

As much as I don't visibly show it, I hate confrontation.

I know that me throwing Rockwell and Kai across a room, and threatening to feed Lorenzo to sharks- purely contradicts that, but still.

I grew up constantly getting told off by Cal. It could've been about anything, and I still would've ended up with bruises by the end of it.

"Get your ass in the house, Cameron." A loud voice says over what sounds like an intercom. I look around confused, searching for one of the guys.

"Look up dipshit." The voice says again laughing. I bring my gaze to the roof of Nate's house, where all three of them are leaning out of the bedroom window.

"What are you? A fucking news reporter?" I ask chuckling as I take off my helmet.

"Nah, just a ladies man. Get in here!" Caden laughs, turning the megaphone up a few octaves.

I shake my head and make my way inside Nate's house. Shopping bags from all different stores flood the kitchen counter as, Frank Ocean, blasts throughout the living room.

Soph.

"Evidence reports, Sophie Dylan, is somewhere in this said vicinity. What do our sources have to say about this statement?" I shout over the music.

I love Soph like I love Lilah. I'd do anything for her, the energy she brings, the laughter, and overall pure happiness she provides for August is unthinkable. I'm so obsessed with their friendship and them as individuals.

"Cam!" Soph giggles jumping up from the dining table and running towards me. I embrace her hug and hold on extra tight.

We both know, that with any other circumstance, what happened last night with August could've been her, and I'd hate myself even more than I already do if it happened again.
