It was a Tuesday morning, the day was cloudy, it seemed as if it might rain. There was a small neighborhood and in this neighborhood was a kind blue haired cinnamon roll named Wally Darling. Wally wasn't just any ordinary neighbor however, unlike most he lived in the rich part of the neighborhood. From a young age he always had more money than he knew what to do with. It led to many respecting him in many ways especially if they were in the neighborhood. He was so loved by the many neighbors that lived nearby. The moment he left his home, he could count on at least five different neighbors to come out and greet him, he was quite the big deal. He was powerful, respected, and dearly loved by many. He may have been the richest in the neighborhood, yet when people weren't interacting with him they would keep whispers. At first Wally didn't notice, his entitlement and his money kept him out of most if not all trouble. One day, a new neighbor came around, one who didn't understand the ways of the neighborhood. Her name was Skep, as she first moved in everyone kept her distance from her unsure of her true intentions, the only one that didn't follow this was Wally. He had stumbled upon her accidentally as he was walking home from talking with the neighborhood grandma Alice. "Watch where you're going, you almost ruined my expensive clothes!" He said, "I'm terribly sorry" she replied. She seemed very apologetic and quickly wanted to get out of the situation. "Just be more careful next time, and actually look where you're going" he thought it was a bit odd the way she was acting, instead of wanting to chat with him it seemed as if she wanted to get out of the conversation as quickly as possible. "My apologies, I should go, I have things to do-" She had left more questions than answers for him, he decided to ask around the rest of the neighbors. Since they all kept their distance from her, they had no answers for him. This just left more questions than answers but he didn't know what else to do, he knew she lived in the neighborhood but he was unsure of where exactly. As he had many questions throughout the day he continued to want answers to them. It took days for him to find her once more, this time she was at her home. This was his moment, it was time for him to release all the questions he had. He waved to her and they both did their greetings as he walked towards her. "When we last talked you seemed to want to get out of the conversation as quickly as possible, why is that?" he asked. "Well- why do you want to know?" she replied, she seemed hesitant as he brought up their last conversation. "It's been on my mind all day, I've just been so curious." "Well- I suppose I could tell you..." He was excited, as she walked inside her home he followed close behind. When he walked inside he looked around, she closed the door and around the room were bookshelves full of books, the room seemed slightly messy as there were some on the floor and some were open. "Would you like something to drink?" "A tea would be nice" "Alright, take a seat, feel free to look around." She walked into the kitchen and left him alone, he looked through the books. Many were labeled as fantasy, mystery, or even romances. As she came back with a cup of tea he had sat down on the couch. "So what's with the books?" "Ah yes, I'm a big reader, they also inspire my writing." "You're a writer?" "Yea, though I haven't written much so far-'' She seemed nervous and somewhat uncomfortable, it seemed like something was wrong. "Oh, well I'm sure that'll change at some point." She nods, after a bit of silence she takes out a book. "You wanted to know why I wanted to leave the conversation yes?" He nodded with curiosity still in his mind. She hesitantly handed him the book, it was a simple purple with a cursive tittle labeled "Au Research". He looked through it and the pages were full of names. This just brought more questions than answers. "What is this?" "I update it recently, it's my Au research, there's so many universes in the world I thought I'd investigate." "This is all you?" He looked at her in astonishment, never did he think anything like this would be real let alone possible by some unknown neighbor no one payed attention to. "Yep, though it's not much for the most part." "Not much, not much?!? this is way more than much- how do you even-?" "It's a long story I'd rather not explain" He nods in understanding still trying to process the information. "I should go- I have things to do." She nods in understanding as he got up and handed her the empty cup. "Well I hope I can see you later then, oh and please don't mention this to anyone else. It would be hard to explain this to others." She seemed to have said the last part in an ominous tone and he hesitantly nodded as he left her home. As he walked home he started thinking about what he had witnessed. Where there really that many Aus? How did she even know about them? Did she actually go to them? Is that why she knew so much? There were so many questions and yet few answers he was able to come up with. She truly was an odd neighbor but definitely not in the way that he had expected. He had eventually made it home and had decided that it would be easier to just try to ignore the questions, at least until he could answer them in a way he could truly understand.
