CAMILA
It's been quite a while since I last was here. Taking a step towards the entrance past the door, I find my way to meet my mum on a phone call. Seated on the couch, our eyes settle on each other before she's up on her feet all smiles.
I politely return her smile as she hangs up.
"You're just in time." She says walking to hug me.
"In time?" I ask confused. She just smiles and ushers me in the living room. Unlike her. I take a seat opposite her favorite couch as I look around. Nothing much has changed. I haven't been here since the night I gave my baby away.
"How are you feeling?" She asks placing a glass of juice infront of me. "Your father and I haven't slept much considering what happened-"
"Mum." I cut her off. "I'm fine. Really."
"What about the bill? Who paid? Your friends?" She continues and I remain silent. I know not about who paid for the hospital bill.
"You must have good friends Camila." She adds before her phone rings thankfully. With that she excuses herself and so do I, finding my way to my once was room. I place my bag on the side of the bed before climbing on the bed. Jetlagged and all, I could use some rest. Speaking of friends, yes I do have good friends. If whoever paid the bill is one of the few friends I made in the recent weeks, I'm glad to have them.
I send a quick text to Ash confirming that I arrived home. And she does the almost obvious thing.
"You should be telling that to your boyfriend. I don't remember us dating." That is her response.
Do I respond to it? I choose to facetime Alex on that note. Sadly it doesn't go through. Jetlagged and all, it's not long before I fall into a deep slumber.
Not sure how long I was asleep but a cold breeze is what wakes me up. My bedroom's window is slightly open and heavily raining outside. Climbing out of the bed, I close the window as my ears welcome something like a discussion between mum, dad and an unfamiliar voice.
From my room, I walk following their discussion from the hallway until almost at the entrance of the living room.
"I'm absolutely sure that this lead is what you've been longing for." That's the unfamiliar voice.
"How do we approach this?" That's dad.
"It would be better if you talk to Camila, it will be easier going forward and getting your grandchild back." That's the unfamiliar voice.
"Grandchild?" I walk to the living room all confused. This time my eyes settle from the unfamiliar gentleman, to my dad then to mum.
In her que, she walks towards me with a gentle smile.
"Please sit Camila." She says.
"I'm okay with standing!" I stop her on her tracks. "What's going on?" I add.
"Mr James here, has been helping us trace your child, our grandchild and finally we've found a positive lead." There goes dad and to be honest I really didn't hear him correctly because after the word your child, I didn't pay much attention to whatever he said next.
"We've found your lost child." There goes the unfamiliar gentleman whose name I quite don't give a damn.
"Is this why I'm here? Is this why you all wanted me home?" I ask. "You both had all this planned out. Hoping that I'd jump on your ship and sail together?"
"Camila-" that's dad on his feet and I angrily cut him off immediately.
"I was drugged and raped!" I say painfully. This time a tear rolls down my cheek.
