Encouraged by Nate's understanding, Andrew felt relieved, & a newfound sense of comfort washed over him. And in that moment, he knew he could confide in his best friend about anything.
Nate, too, felt a weight lifted off his shoulders, realizing that he, too, had something to share. He took a deep breath & said, "Andrew, there's something I haven't told anyone either. I feel that I'm not truly a boy salamander. In my heart, I am a girl. I want to be called Nadia instead of Nate."
Andrew's eyes sparkled with acceptance, "Nadia, you are incredibly brave to share this with me. I'm so glad we can be there for each other."
