One of my mother's cats jumped up on the covers
And it scared my baby, 'cause she don't like pets
So I twisted its fuckin' head off at the neck
"Look baby, it's bloody, it's gone, it's doomed"
"Please! Come back to the room"Grace POV:
"Come on... I want to show you something." Patrick had a devilish grin.
I stood up from bed, still tired. "Can I change first?" I mumbled with a sleepy voice.
He rolled his eyes. "I'm not leaving if that's what you're implying."
I walked over to my dresser. I pulled a pair of sweatpants out and pulled them on over my shorts. I was just going to take them off when I got home anyway since it was summer, I only needed them right now since it was barely sunrise. I pulled a hoodie on over my shirt.
"Where are we even going?"
"You'll see." He smirked.
I sighed and put some socks and shoes on since it seemed like I'd need them. "Why this early? Why can't you just show me whatever it is later on?"
"Because I need privacy to show you."
"You're so dramatic." I said as I stood near the doorway of my bedroom. He walked to the doorway and then crept down the stairs, being careful not to be loud. I followed closely behind him.
Once we got outside the house he grabbed my hand and began walking at a fast pace.
"Slow down it's too early for this!" I groaned as he pulled me along.
"It will all be worth it once I show you." He grinned. "We're close! Close your eyes!" He said excitedly.
I rolled my eyes and closed me eyes as he continued to pull me along. I started to smell something right before he stopped.
"We're here." He said excitedly. "Open your eyes." I slowly opened my eyes only to be met with... the junkyard?
"What? Why are we here?" I said in confusion.
"Come here." He walked close to a fridge. I thought he was just messing with me or something. Why would he want to show me a dirty fridge in a junkyard? Regardless of how ridiculous I thought this was, I followed and walked close to it.
He grinned as he reached for the handle and slowly opened the refrigerator door. My eyes filled with horror as the door swung open. It was filled with dead animals.
"D-did you-?" I asked nervously. I shouldn't have asked. God why did I ask... I don't want to know the answer.
He smiled at me proudly. "Yes. Do you like it?"
"No what the fuck why would I like this!?" I felt disgusted by him. There was all kinds of animals in there... house cats, rabbits, birds.
"Why wouldn't you?" He asked with a sinister smile on his face.
"This is sick! You're sick!"
"Oh come on it's not even bad." He said dismissively as he rolled his eyes.
I stared at him with shock and disgust for a moment. I turned my back to him and began to walk away as I stayed silent. He grabbed my arm to stop me.
"What's wrong?"
"Are you kidding? You just showed me a bunch of dead animals to what impress me?"
He looked genuinely shocked at my response. "You don't like it?"
"No!"
He sighed and looked disappointed. "Whatever..." he scoffed "I'll take you home now."
"I don't want you anywhere near me!" I yelled as I backed away from him. He looked annoyed by my words, he stayed silent as he stared at me for a moment.
"I'm one of your brother's best friends, you can't avoid me, Grace."
"Oh yeah? Does Reggie or any of your other friends know about your sick little "hobby"?" I asked in disgust.
As I spoke I noticed an eery grin creeping onto his face. "Oh yes, not all of them are necessarily comfortable with it but hey, better animals than people, right?"
Is he actually fucking serious? Was that his excuse? "Your logic is very flawed. That doesn't justify what you're doing at all!" I yelled in frustration. Suddenly I came to a realization about his previous response to me. I gasped as my eyes widened and I spoke quieter now, in a shaky voice. "R-Reggie knows about this?"
Patrick's walked closer to me and put an arm around me. "Don't worry about that, little girl." (I deeply apologize for writing "little girl".)
I pushed his arm off me and shoved him away. "Get off me, you psycho!" I screamed as I began running away. I ran to the direction of my house. I knew he was going to come back here though. When I got there Reggie and the rest of his friends were no longer on the couch, but I could hear loud metal music blaring from his room. I locked myself in my room as I sat with my back against the door. This didn't actually happen right? This had to be a sick and twisted nightmare. No way my brother's friend did something that... evil. I could hear the door downstairs open and then close. My body stiffened. I heard slow footsteps creep up the stairs. I peeked under my door to see if I would be able to see him. I saw him stop right In front of my door. I almost let out a scream, but I caught myself as my hand flew up to cover my mouth. He stood silently outside my bedroom door for a minute before I heard him sigh and walk back into Reggie's room. I let out a small sigh of relief, though I still sat with my back pressed against the door.
For the rest of the summer I tried to distance myself from Patrick as much as I could. It was hard because it also caused me to distance myself from my brother, that was never my intention, but I wasn't going to ruin his friendship, and it's not like we were ever hostile with each other we just talked less and didn't hang out together as much anymore. But hey at least school was starting soon, I'd get to hang out with my friends more and maybe I'd get a distraction from everything that happened with Patrick.
