Alpha Meet - I

Ares had gone back to doing what he did best, which was ignoring me like the plague. Joey used to drop by every day and soon we became really good friends much to Ares's dismay. His sour attitude was annoying at first, now it's just really amusing to watch.

Just after I tucked Athena in and kissed her good night I heavily lay down on my bed. Soon I was bought out of my stupor with a knock on my door, revealing the cold eyes of my mate. I didn't know what to do so I signalled him to come inside, since I didn't trust my mouth with him around.

"Tomorrow there will be alpha's meet of all packs and I need you to come. Joey will take you to town to get something for you to wear." He said, more like ordered.

Which made me realise that Alphas are usually accommodated by their betas, and after my parents death my uncle would take over as the pack beta and that was one particular beta I didn't want to encounter at any cost.

"Will there be betas too?" I enquired, with my voice wobbling at the end. As soon as those words left my mouth he looked at me with worry in his eyes.

"No, but if you don't feel like facing so many people I could make up some excuse for you" he offered softly with his hot palms resting on my cheek to which I involuntarily leaned in. He thought I was scared to face a large crowd, if only he knew the truth. There were times where I just wanted to detach his man nipples, and there were times like these where I felt like engulfing him in a bear hug and kissing him like there's no tomorrow.

Suddenly he realised what he had been doing, and abruptly took his hand back and left without uttering a word, and just like that he was back to being my cold mate.

Just as I was fixing food for Athena next morning, Joe strutted inside the kitchen who seemed just as excited as a puppy going for a vet visit.

"We'll have to pick up my sister on the way" Joey grumbled. I raised my eyebrow at this revelation.

"I didn't know you had a sister!" I exclaimed.

"She's not a warrior, so she lives a little far from here, where our pack's non warriors live".

Once we were all set to leave, Joey trotted towards his fancy black car and revved up the engine once I had set Athena's car seat safely. After twenty minutes of travelling I noticed the surrounding morphing from endless evergreen trees to a much more civilised township area.

He stopped the car abruptly near a very pissed off girl, who I assumed was his sister.
I must say, Joey's parents did a very good job at making beautiful babies because hot damn! She shared the same green eyes and dirty blonde hair as her brother, as her hair whipped back in the wind, making her look like a fallen angel.

She gracefully slid into the back seat with a scowl on her face.

" Joey, you were supposed to be here by 12 and its 12:02 now" she said while pulling his ear from behind.

"Hello to you too, dumbass" Joey retorted with a goofy grin. Before she could give another snarky comment, Athena yelped in delight seeing the sibling duo bicker at each other like 5 year olds. Her attention went towards Athena and playfully pinched her cheeks and cooed at her which to which Athena responded by adorably blushing back at her.

"You have such a cute baby, I have a baby boy" she exclaimed, finally noticing me. I vaguely remember Joey telling me about his nephew.

"Where are my manners, my name is Phoebe and I must admit Ares is a lucky man to have such a hot mate." she said whilst winking at me, to which I could feel my face heat up.

After what seemed like an eternity and beyond we were done with shopping at a really fancy shop, which I wasn't really comfortable with. But Phoebe blatantly ignored the price tag when we came across a black gown, that hung beautifully. It was strapless, which showed off my collarbones and my petite shoulders

After much persistence from Phoebe, who thought it was perfect and from Joey, who just wanted to leave so we could grab some food, we finally bought the dress that must've cost a fortune.

When I realised we didn't stop by her place I probed "Don't you have to get down?"

"You couldn't possibly imagine that I was gonna let you get ready on your own!" She feigned hurt at my statement. I just rolled my eyes, making both Athena and Phoebe giggle as we drove back to the pack house.
