As the two were busy spending time together, Nicx' phone kept on ringing as she kept on declining it, a signal that the call came from someone she clearly doesn't want herself to be associated with.
"seriously, kulang nalang itapon mo phone mo Nicx." Arin says as they took their seats after ordering their snacks.
"hmm? sorry, it's just Ben's been calling me and I don't want to talk to him nor hear his voice." Nicx says, putting her phone away.
"well, give me your phone, I'll talk to him." Arin says, handing her hand out, signalling for the phone.
Nicx looked at Arin's outstretched hand as she shrug, handing her phone.
Sure enough, Nicx phone started ringing once again.
Arin smiled at her as she answered the call.
"Nic?! Thank God you answered the call na! Okay ka lang ba? Puro rejects phone kanina eh, I thought something happened sa'yo!" Ben says from the other line, voice sounding worried.
"hey Ben!" Arin says in her cheery voice.
"A-Arin? Ba't nasayo phone ni Nic? Is she okay?! Asan kayo? Puntahan ko kayo agad." He says, panicking.
"Nah, no need Ben. I just answered the call since kanina mo pa kami ini-sturbo ng girlfriend ko. Please stop calling her, asking her to go out and bother her about your panliligaw. If I'm not mistaken, countless times ka na niyang binasted so I say you back off Ben." She says, voice sounding so serious.
Nicx just sat in front of her, mouth agape. Minsan lang uminit ulo ni Arin but for some reason, pag involve si Ben, it just automatically happens. Ever since mainit na talaga dugo ni Arin kay Ben, hence why nung nanligaw ito sa kanya automatically basted agad 'to.
"Wait, you lost me there. Girlfriend? Since when? Wag ka ngang magbiro jan Arin." Ben says, chuckling.
Nicx saw how Arin rolled her eyes at whatever Ben said kaya napailing siya. Clearly, inuubos na naman ni Ben pasensya ni Arin.
"Kailan ba ako nakipagbiruan sa'yo Ben?" Arin says, "look, wala akong obligasyon magpaliwanag sayo but I will do it..Nicx and I had been together for more than a month now and we kept it a secret from people since we are still figuring how being best friends turn to lovers work and so far, it had been the best out of the best days of our lives kaya we are officially announcing it to everyone, starting sayo...Nicx and I are together, so now that you know it, BACK.OFF.BEN. Hindi ako nakikipagbiruan sayo." She says, ending the call.
Nicx couldn't help it anymore as she started laughing, earning weird looks from people.
"baka umiyak 'yun?" She says, now chuckling.
"Bahala siya. He's just too much, Hindi na nagbago sa kakulitan." Arin answers.
Nicx just shrugs with a smirk on her face as they started eating their snacks, sharing it with each other as well.
After a while of eating, Arin suddenly took her phone out.
"Let's take a photo together Nicx. Post ko sa social media accounts ko, we haven't posted anything yet since we got together eh." She says, opening her camera app.
"Sure thing, I was bothered about that part too. We kind of have to make official announcement of us being together, para na din d ka na kausapin ni lola about blind dates." Nicx says.
"You're right, tsaka para lubayan ka na ni Ben. Jusko, ilang taon ka ng kinukulit nun." Arin says, voice clearly annoyed that made Nicx chuckle.
They both took photos together, smiles on each others faces as they pose for it.
Once they're done, they continued eating and talk about different things ranging to their jobs, hobbies to things that doesn't really make sense to everyone else but to them it did.
After their bonding time, Nicx drove Arin back to her place.
"I'll be busy starting tomorrow, eche-check ko yung site nung bagong client, from then on, kailangan ko na mag start gumawa ng plan and once ma approve nung client I'll start working with her best friend na engineer para sa project. So if ever, limited yung time ko to go and bother you kaya 'wag mo ako masyado ma miss, Nicx." Mapang-asar na sabi ni Arin as soon as the car parked sa labas ng bahay nito.
"As if I'll miss you naman talaga noh? We went on living separate lives for more than a month since we graduated kaya easy na sakin mabuhay without you."
"Well if you say so. See you when I see you then." Arin says with a smile as she kisses Nicx' cheek before exiting the car.
Nicx felt herself melt at the contact, like always.
Arin always has this power on her, make her feel weak, calm and really, excempt her at all things she hates. Her best friend turned girlfriend is her exception.
With a smile on her face, she drove back to her place.

Nicx had been chilling in her room, she's finally done with talking to her editor and her book Unforeseen is being processed to be published in two weeks time. A surprise she's planning to tell Arin about when they meet again.
And speaking of Arin, the latter had been true to her word, she hadn't messaged her for two days now.
Pero naka tag ito sa mga posts nung bago nitong client, apparently, said client invited her sa isang charity event.
Nicx isn't bothered na hindi nagparamdam si Arin sa kanya, she knows the woman is busy. What she's bothered about is that she indeed misses her.
As she's thinking about the woman, she suddenly received notifications.

Nicx opened the notifications and it immediately made her smile, it was Arin who tagged her.
It's their photo together from their first gala as girlfriends in which she was staring at Arin with a smile on her face as the latter was making a silly face in front of the camera and the caption was.
Arin Montenegro titig na titig ah! Mahal na mahal mo talaga ako noh? Don't worry, mahal na mahal din kita 🤍
Napailing nalang siya sa caption nito, it looked so real.
She decided to watch the reel na pinost nito and she chuckled at what she saw.
It was a video of her squinting her eyes trying to read a menu, she remembers it was from the time they were watching movies and was picking their food and snacks. She was squinting her eyes since hindi niya makita kung magkano yung popcorn and she wanted to give coins as a payment since yun yung utos ni Arin sa kanya.
She just found out ngayon na nag take pala ito ng video niya, Arin's laughter of amusement can be heard sa background as Nicx counts the coins in her hands.
It can also be heard sa video how Arin called her a cutie babi.
And present Nicx couldn't help but feel the kilig as she repeatedly watch the video, just so she can hear Arin's laughter and voice.
"Damn it, I think I'm starting to fall."
