Shailene Point of View

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.

Death usually waits patiently just around the corner, peeking out from over the horizon like a maiden opening the door a crack to evaluate and savor her betrothed.

I hear noise, but it's a calm, gentle voice.

Cross over children. All are welcome. All welcome. Go into the Light. There is peace and serenity in the Light.

I don't want to leave this place I'm in.

I want to see him. He's my first thought in the morning and my last thought at night. Always has and always will be.

But this looks too good. I need to go.

I go.
