"You wake up in an unknown area, not remembering who you are, or how you got there. All you remember is your name and age. What do you do?"
Another regular campaign. If you couldn't tell already, I'm a dungeon master in the well known game, Dungeons and Dragons. Of course, the game is despised by many because of a rumor people started about the game being mostly math. That rumor is not true, however. Yes, the game requires an imagination and basic addition and subtraction, but that's all you need to play the game.
"I decide to check my surroundings for anything useful," I say, not knowing what could be so special about this campaign, compared to the others we've played. "Roll for investigation, one d20," the DM, Roxanne, says casually. "16 plus 3 modifier," I call out. "You notice in the distance a small city, unsure of what intel could be stored there. You also notice many berry bushes, animals, and a river near by," she said. The intel I just gained from the DM will surely help me in my journey to this city, I thought.
"You and your party venture to the city, berries and water in tow. The journey takes four days and four nights. When you arrive at the city gates, there are two guards," Rox says, "'Halt!' one guard says, 'No one without city residency allowed' the other says with malice, what do you do?" "I explain to the guards that I just woke up randomly about 100 or so miles from the city gates," "Roll persuasion," "17 plus 2 dexterity modifier," I call.
"You persuade the guards that you are an innocent, but they still don't let you into the city," Rox tells me, "I rummage through my pockets to see if i have any sort of residency card," I call to Roxanne. "Very well, roll investigation," "2 plus 3 modifier," I say, sadness laced in my voice, "Ouch, want a save throw?" "Nah, lets just continue the campaign," "Very well, You search through your pockets, but find nothing, but rocks, and sand," "Ouch Rox, not even a dagger? Haha," "Nope, sorry. The die decide," I look at Roxanne with the most sarcastic face I could make before she shouts out, "Ok guys, this session has concluded, see you all next Saturday!" Walking out, I'm talking to one of my party members, and they were talking about these super realistic dreams they were having about the campaign. I hope those dreams never happen to me, they seem scary.
Sorry Guys, this concludes this chapter, but dont worry, i'ma have one written up within the week. See you next time!
