"Alright, Biffle, I'll give you ten Camp Bucks if you go into the ocean." Henwy pointed out at the waves, which were steadily churning towards the shore, a cacophony of water and foam.
Biffle glanced out at the water, then held his hands up. "No way. There's sharks."
"Did you just turn down a bet?" Sigils gasped, "Who are you and what have you done with Biffle?"
Biffle flung a chunk of sand at Sigils.
"Hey!" He snapped, mock glaring at him. Biffle just snickered.
The palm trees swayed in a soft breeze, their arching leaves rustling against each other. The ocean was roaring, sending anyone in their depths tumbling about as waves crashed upon shore. Seagulls cawed high overhead, their beady eyes scouring the land for unattended food, dipping between the palm trees with ease. The smell of salt was fresh on the wind.
Biffle, Sigils, and Henwy were arguing along the coast. Jerome was climbing a palm tree, digging his claws deep into the bark. Gold was egging him on as Alxton, ears flat, watched from afar.
Jerome yelped as he slipped, plummeting to the ground in a heap of limbs. Gold immediately burst into laughter.
Jerome glared at him, accepting the man's hand as Gold pulled him from the ground.
"Not funny," he growled.
"Very funny," Gold shot back.
Henwy, who'd come over after all the commotion, shook his head. "You're practically a bear and you fell from a tree."
"A seagull shrieked in my ear," Jerome grumbled, dusting off his clothing.
That only made Gold's laughter worsen.
"At least I can actually climb a tree."
The man perked up immediately, a spiteful grin spreading across his face. "Oh yeah? Watch me."
Gold proceeded to fail at climbing trees for a solid five minutes.
Henwy, Jerome, and Alxton synchronized their slow claps, each of them shaking their heads.
Henwy was wearing a white linen shirt with a buttoned black frock coat over it. He wore a tricorne hat with a long, red feather protruding from it. He claimed it was a phoenix's feather, which was believed by exactly no one. His baldric was with everyone else's, tucked away underneath the shade of a palm tree. In the baldric was a golden scimitar that shimmered in the sunlight.
Jerome wore a loosely fitted linen shirt that had some peculiar red stains that had obviously been scrubbed, but not enough to remove them. His left tusk was broken. It was a jagged cut, jarred and mangled. He wore a red wave 'cap', which was actually a bandana tied around his forehead. The knot was on the back of his head.
Alxton adjusted his white shirt, which was underneath a brown tunic. His black tricorne hat was lined in red. A few chicken feathers poked out from it. While his left ear had a nick in it, hoops were adorned in his right ear, coupled by several rings on his paws. On his left wrist, a bracelet with a golden stone flashed, the crystal matching his golden fang.
Gold finally gave up, a smile revealing his many golden teeth. An eye patch covered his right eye, hiding the trident mishap from many years ago. Despite everyone trying to convince him to switch over to actual pants, Gold still wore his iconic shorts.
