So. I'm not going to lie, but I hate planes. They smell funny. You don't believe me? Next time you get on a plane take a big whiff of the air and compare it to normal air. It's different...and gross.

Anyway, you can see that I was happy once we had made it to the hotel and were FAR away from the dreaded things.

Once we were all situated in the hotels and I was lying on my comfy double bed, I was able to acknowledge the fact that I was in London! For the Olympics!

I looked over to Alice, my roommate for the duration of the time in London and fellow team member, and we both grinned at each other and squealed. We were finally here!

After nearly 13 years of hard work and dedication I was finally achieving my goal! I was so excited!

I groaned as I entered the gym with Alice at my side, chatting my ear off. Seriously? Who is this perky at 7 in the morning?

It was about 5 weeks until the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, so we were still deciding who was going to be an all-around medalist contender and would compete in all of the events. I was betting on that position. I needed that position. Alice already had one of the spots and there was only one left.

"Okay, everyone!" my teams coach, Samuel, called out to us. "Tom and I have a little surprise for all of you." Tom was the boys Olympic Gymnastics Team coach. "As apart of the welcoming into England they have given everybody a English Celebrity to assist the teams for the duration of our time spent here before the opening ceremony. I really don't understand why they are here but it is suppose to be some sort of welcoming thing, so be nice to them!"

"They will be here shortly, while we are waiting for them, all of you start stretching on the mat." Tom added.

"Who is it going to be? Which celebrity?" Alice asked as we moved into our stretching positions.

"Oh yeah, some boy band called One Direction.." Samuel replied, indifferently.

"Oh my god! One Direction!" That was Lauren. Biggest bitch on the block. She was 19 so this was her only chance at the Olympics. Oh and she hated my guts. She believed I didn't deserve to be where I am now and that I was going to take her position away from her. It wasn't even hers!

"Hey!" Oliver called out to me, sitting next to me on the mat. "What's up, chicka?" Oliver was my best friend. We have trained at the same gym since we were little and now we were going to the Olympics together.

I shrugged my shoulders, but then grinned at him "I have the greatest idea!"

Oliver started to shake his head "No way! I am not getting involved in your crazy ideas anymore! I still have sore balls from when you made me do a back-flip on the beam and I fell off!"

I started to laugh "Please! It'll be funny! Won't hurt a bit!" he sighed and shrugged his shoulders, making me grin. "Yes! Okay so when the guys from that boy band get here I dare you to go up to one of them and start gushing about how much you love them and hug them and stuff."

"What's in it for me?" He challenged me.

I rolled my eyes "I'll give you $10."

He nodded his head in confirmation. "I'll do it!"
